My Tri: June 2011
http://mytritimes.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Race Reviews from the Oklahoma City area. I am a Triathlete. Limbs for Life's Blaze through the Adventure District 5K. 19 of 152 females. 5 of 28 age group. Course and Elevation Profile. I was sold on this race as soon as I heard about the charity. What a great cause getting artificial limbs to those that can't afford it. I will definitely be back next year. I got to run through the zoo! How cool is that? I love races in places you would otherwise never get to run in! Tshirt, yes I like races with tshirts.

My Tri: Getting Started
http://mytritimes.blogspot.com/p/getting-started.html
Race Reviews from the Oklahoma City area. I am a Triathlete. Made the decision to get off that chair and get active? Someone you know doing a 5K and you think, "I could do that," but not sure how to start? Here's some places to read up and get started, for free, of course. I have to admit I didn't use this when I started. I'm not disciplined enough to keep to a schedule, but I know countless people who have had great success with it. My tips to a beginner:. A great organization. You don't have to be ...

Going Long: The Runner - Super Summer 8k
http://going-long.blogspot.com/2008/06/runner-super-summer-8k.html
Monday, June 30, 2008. The Runner - Super Summer 8k. As I arrived at Lake Hefner I suspected the race might be a wash since there was lightining quite close and it looked like a heavy downpour was going to start any minute. In all actuality the race did start on time and the only real effects were very heavy humidity. Nice job on leaving nothing on the course. We'll blame Bill G on not telling you to turn into the park loop. June 30, 2008 at 9:41 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Mar - A2A Marathon.

Having it All: So what have we been up to for the last year?
http://kriskarsten.blogspot.com/2012/05/so-what-have-we-been-up-to-for-last.html
Monday, May 7, 2012. So what have we been up to for the last year? Well, it's been over a year since I lasted updated. At the encouragement of my wife, I'm going to start updating again. That seems more feasible now that the summer is coming around and my workload is lightening up a bit. So here's a quick re-cap of what's happened since June of 2011! Alex has been coming along well, too. He has an interest in reading, is starting to get some basic math, and his writing is becoming more legible. A...Loved...

Going Long: Andy Pain Marathon
http://going-long.blogspot.com/2008/06/andy-pain-marathon.html
Saturday, May 24, 2008. OK so that's a typo but seems to fit my experience at the Andy Payne marathon. While I started the marathon with very little base training, I was feeling pretty confident considering I good I felt at the OKC. 1/2 which I did with no training and my long run 2 weeks prior where Karrie and I did 20 miles and finished strong at a pace faster than the conservative 4:15 goal I had set for my first marathon. I had the opportunity to meet a few ultrarunners. As a kid. Top this off wi...

Going Long: Back to essentials
http://going-long.blogspot.com/2009/07/back-to-essentials.html
Tuesday, July 28, 2009. Lately things have been very hectic in my work life. This has lead me to rethink my goals of mulit-sport training and logging enough running time to do well in the 24 hour race - 24 the hard way. Coming up in October. I am on one hand extremely disappointed but on another relieved to have a single focus. I think it's that ability to put the blinders on an focus on a single goal that makes me successful at times when my training is lacking anyway. In closing I'm trying to reassess ...

Having it All: February 2009
http://kriskarsten.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 10, 2009. Brady's 4th Birthday Party. There was a separate play area for the "littler ones" but Alex wanted nothing to do with that.he went onto the big kids stuff with passion! One of the most fun parts of the day was playing in the bounce pit with Alex. He would stand up and all I had to do was bounce to knock him off balance.he'd fall over and laugh so hard that he could hardly breathe. Then he'd get up, stand still, and wait for me to do it again.over and over! I had only ran a tota...

Having it All: March 2011
http://kriskarsten.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 25, 2011. What goes around comes around. Many people who know me know one of my true loves in life is to eat food. For as long as I can remember, I've always eaten A LOT. (Funny side note: check out this blog. My record for most number of slices of pizza eaten in one setting is 18. Ridiculous, I know. 7 chicken nuggets (age 3). 4 hot dogs (ages 4 and 5). Entire mini pizza (ages 3 and up). 4 waffles; multiple times he's done this (age 6). Half a Red Baron-sized pizza (age 3). Last weekend wa...
