Mostly Minnesotan: The Fifteen Foot Christmas Tree
http://mostlyminnesotan.blogspot.com/2012/12/the-fifteen-foot-christmas-tree.html
Living and Loving Life in the Land of Lakes. Saturday, December 8, 2012. The Fifteen Foot Christmas Tree. I grew up with artificial trees and I love them. Through all of our moves I have moved the six foot tree I got my first year after college. I love that tree because I can put it up myself and I have the exact right number of decorations for it and they all fit in one rubbermaid box. Calhoun does not like my artificial tree so much. That same night we rearranged all the furniture in our living room, a...

Mostly Minnesotan: Every Dog is OK
http://mostlyminnesotan.blogspot.com/2012/12/every-dog-is-ok.html
Living and Loving Life in the Land of Lakes. Saturday, December 8, 2012. Every Dog is OK. Calhoun hunts. Just in case you didn't know. I am learning about hunting, but mostly I am a suburban kid, without skills or instinct, who has found herself simply trying to keep up with the vocabulary and what is in season this week. The word I added to my vocabulary today: " snare. Vasa was caught in a snare.". Vasa did not struggle. Vasa did not pull the metal snare tighter around his neck. Vasa laid for minutes i...

Mostly Minnesotan: Happy Holidays from Sogn and Vasa
http://mostlyminnesotan.blogspot.com/2012/12/happy-holidays-from-sogn-and-vasa.html
Living and Loving Life in the Land of Lakes. Saturday, December 1, 2012. Happy Holidays from Sogn and Vasa. The holidays means photographs for the annual holiday card! So, here are the puppy out-takes (the people out-takes are so terrible they are not suitable for the blog):. Poor hunting dogs, their noses are working overtime. This was just distraction. Vasa tends to look like a crazy. Ps photos taken by Red and Swan who made the drive to visit us a few weekends ago! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Mostly Minnesotan: I Shot a Handgun
http://mostlyminnesotan.blogspot.com/2012/10/i-shot-handgun.html
Living and Loving Life in the Land of Lakes. Sunday, October 7, 2012. I Shot a Handgun. I shot a handgun last week for the first time. To be honest, I've always been a little afraid of guns. I grew up in the suburbs and have never been around guns and haven't had a lot of education about how they work. I had never seen a gun in person until I met Calhoun and came up north to his house for the first time. Labels: Living in Crookston. December 2, 2012 at 9:43 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Mostly Minnesotan: About Harriet
http://mostlyminnesotan.blogspot.com/p/about-me.html
Living and Loving Life in the Land of Lakes. Ok - so back to me. Not Harriet. I'm not actually going to tell you my name but with a few quick Internet searches you could certainly figure it out so I'm not that worried about it. In addition to getting an education, learning stuff and making friends I also met my husband, Calhoun, at college. We got married a few years ago and lived in an adorable bungalow in Minneapolis, got a dog who we named Sogn and drove our hatchback around the cities while we bo...

Mostly Minnesotan: Hibernation
http://mostlyminnesotan.blogspot.com/2013/01/hibernation.html
Living and Loving Life in the Land of Lakes. Tuesday, January 22, 2013. Life has been pretty great up here in the northwest. Work has been busy and rewarding every day, the weekends have been filled with knitting projects and I've put a lot of treadmill miles on the awesome running shoes I got for Christmas. And, there's always a furry creature around to snuggle up with. The blog will probably be back in the spring, hopefully filled with new adventures. WARNING: This comedy is most definitely not. Triple...

Mostly Minnesotan: Introducing Vasa!
http://mostlyminnesotan.blogspot.com/2012/09/introducing-vasa.html
Living and Loving Life in the Land of Lakes. Monday, September 17, 2012. A few weeks ago, when we were feeling really down about living in the basement and still not having a house of our own, we rebelled by doing something really irresponsible. We bought a second dog. To his credit, Calhoun did a ton of research, met dogs and watched bird dog trials. When I mentioned that I wanted an adult dog, not a puppy, he zeroed in on a trainer in South Carolina who was training dogs from a line he really liked.

Mostly Minnesotan: The Locals
http://mostlyminnesotan.blogspot.com/p/whos-who.html
Living and Loving Life in the Land of Lakes. Is my mother-in-law, Calhoun's mom. Bemidji is from North Dakota but has been in Minnesota, doing many Minnesota things, since college. Is my niece, the daughter of Nokomis and Eveleth. She's four months old, and is now bigger than a blueberry! Is a friend from college and a great sailor. She's married to the D.D.S. and they live in the neighborhood! Is my sister-in-law, Nokomis' wife. She is from the Iron Range and is generally awesome. Is my father-in-law, C...

Mostly Minnesotan: Oh hello, fandom
http://mostlyminnesotan.blogspot.com/2012/03/oh-hello-fandom.html
Living and Loving Life in the Land of Lakes. Thursday, March 15, 2012. Oh hello, fandom. I've been absent from the blog for a while. My absence is partially because I find that when I get behind on posts it becomes really hard for me to catch up, and it's also because I've just been busy! Blueberry, so wonderful! I've also been meaning to write about my knitting. I finished my first pair of selbu mittens, from the book Selbuvotter: Biography of a Knitting Tradition. So, I guess that's all good news right?

Mostly Minnesotan: Red Lake Falls
http://mostlyminnesotan.blogspot.com/2012/10/red-lake-falls.html
Living and Loving Life in the Land of Lakes. Sunday, October 14, 2012. The past few weeks have felt very busy - it's a lot of work to settle in to a new house! We've been in the new place, here in RLF, for about three weeks. It's amazing how fast a new place can feel like home. I can't overstate how wonderful it is to have our couch out of storage, our books on the shelf and our dogs sleeping on the carpet in our own house. Sogn, not afraid of the bridge. Mostly they are getting along pretty well. As...
