Tripping diary: France, Rennes
http://trippingdiary.blogspot.com/2005/12/france-rennes.html
Travelling stories of people and places far from mine. Friday, December 16, 2005. I spent four months living in this city, and I grew very fond of it. It is actually a beautiful place to live, very neat and secure, the only thing I missed was having a beach in the city, but other than that the place is in several way the perfect place to live. I had the time of my life there, met wonderful people; I guess I’ll just let the. Pictures do the talking. Urban landscape of Rennes, good graffiti. It's been abou...
Tripping diary: Roadtripping Jamaica
http://trippingdiary.blogspot.com/2007/06/roadtripping-jamaica.html
Travelling stories of people and places far from mine. Sunday, June 17, 2007. I came on business to Kingston, I don't know why I expected a first world city. Instead I've found an emerging economy. The most remarkable thing about Jamaica imho is their people, the Jamaicans. Really warm, and friendly people. Okay, and there's the weather, and the beaches, and beachside resorts, but you can find that elsewhere. I'll let the pictures do the talking. Posted by gabouy at 6:10 PM. France, The island of Ouessant.
Tripping diary: France, Roscoff
http://trippingdiary.blogspot.com/2005/12/france-roscoff.html
Travelling stories of people and places far from mine. Wednesday, December 28, 2005. Roscoff is a little fishermen's town to the north of la bretagne. Beautiful architecture, quiet, and quite cold in winter. Not much nightlife, at least in weekdays. This is a typical church "a la bretagne". This is a bridge that has no sense when the tide is high, the place it leads to is covered in water in high tide, but when is low it arrives to a big stone if i recall well. Tripping diary: Toluca, Mexico
http://trippingdiary.blogspot.com/2006/02/toluca-mexico.html
Travelling stories of people and places far from mine. Tuesday, February 14, 2006. First time in Mexico. Being no turistic spot, I had no idea what to expect. The city is an industrial zone, and a dorm city for lots of people working in mexico city. Height is about 2,600 meters high, which for someone like me, used to sea level height is like the everest, with a constant reminder everytime I would walk up some stairs. I guess, where the same thing is considered rush hour. Toluca's downtown I found to be ...
Tripping diary: France, The island of Ouessant
http://trippingdiary.blogspot.com/2005/12/france-island-of-ouessant.html
Travelling stories of people and places far from mine. Monday, December 26, 2005. France, The island of Ouessant. I was invited on a trekking weekend trip to la Île d'Ouessant. Somehow an uruguayan. Like me ended up in the island farther to the west of france, in the french department of finistère, the end of the earth, as once they thought it to be, beyond that only sea. We walked around 20 kilometers per day, around the perimeter of the island. I found the place the perfect spot to retire on a book...

From Uruguay: June 2007

Sunday, June 17, 2007. Let's switch countries for a day. I've been for a couple of weeks in Kingston, Jamaica. Bob Marley's city, and Reggae's motherland. It's in some ways similar to Uruguay. It was colony, it's a small population country. Officially 2.7 millon inhabitants. It's an emerging economy as well, and both countries suffer from emigration issues. If I had to answer quickly what are the pros and cons of Jamaica vs Uruguay. I would answer something like this,. And El Palacio Salvo. It's free in ...

Thursday, May 31, 2007. Ten things I love about living in Uruguay. I told you already the ugly part, the ten things I hate about living in Uruguay. Which sparked a couple of mails with a worried tone. Now it's time to talk about the other part. Why despite all the bad things I told you about, I still choose Uruguay for a living. So here I go, this is my top ten list of things I like about Uruguay. My family, and dear ones. In Uruguay family comes first. Weekly family gatherings to have pasta or asado.

Sunday, July 15, 2007. Uruguay advances, tax reform. Uruguay Avanza). That's the slogan the Uruguayan government is using to market the new tax reform, as a positive change. The reform entered into play the first of july. We were all required to fill, sign and present a form. To each employer before 29th june. S minister of economy, Danilo Astori. Has of course, a different, more optimistic, view on things, he says this reform will benefit 80% of the population. I'm no specialist, I don't have a clear po...

Sunday, August 26, 2007. Uruguay, Religion and Taxes. Right after the economic crisis of 2002 a Brazilian Pentecostal church. Called Iglesia Universal del Reino de Dios. Spread all over the country, like a virus. They launched a very aggressive mediatic campaign including one hour spots in Uruguay air channels on a daily basis. Their slogan is Pare de Sufrir. They operate as a multinational corporation, they are huge in Brazil, and they have presence all over South American. Under the new law, started in...

Tuesday, April 17, 2007. I like storms, always had, and if they are electrical storms even better. Right now there's a bit of a thunderstorm going on outside, with the nightsky going daylight bright every ten minutes. I just love the cracking sound of the thunders, don't you? I don't know if this is a Uruguay thing. This awesome picture was taken by tali. In last week's big storm, in el puertito del buceo. Lightnings made in Uruguay. Thursday, April 05, 2007. Sunday, March 23, 2008. Hillwalking in Uruguay, Pan de Azucar. I went last Friday, and it was like the fourth time I climbed it in my life. I did it a couple of times with my parents, as a kid, and about five years ago with my girlfriend, and it’s remarkable how it mirrors aging for this time was the first time I really felt the exercise. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Welcome, this blog is about sharing what's like to live in Uruguay. This small country at the south of South America. Chistes, dale forward.

Tuesday, March 27, 2007. Montevideo's Harbor (in Black and White). Aka "el puerto de montevideo". Is a very interesting place, but unfortunately access is restricted. I was lucky to get in and take pictures because I am entering a photography contest and was given a special permission and a tour guide to walk around. These pictures describe the harbor and its people, their work and their breaks. Hope you enjoy them. Wednesday, March 21, 2007. Rifa Arquitectura, around the world in seven months. Which is ...

Tripping Down the Aisle. Colors and Design Inspiration. Welcome to our wedding site. We met on Eharmony in the Fall of 2009 and fell in love shortly after Karen tripped Rafael while skating at Rockefeller Center. We are looking forward to our wedding on November 12, 2011. For our anniversary we returned to the restaurant where we had our first date. After a romantic dinner (complete with wood burning fireplace and tiramisu for dessert! Finally, R had to ask her if she wanted to see what was in the box.

Tripping Down the Path. Little bits of life. Sunday, May 29, 2011. The world is round and the place which may seem like the end may also be the beginning. Snaps fingers.) Of course not.
