The Fig Tree & A Vine: Friendships that last
http://figtreeandvine.blogspot.com/2010/07/friendships-that-last.html
The Fig Tree and A Vine. A place to read about the peace and comfort that God offers in the midst of a crazy and unpredictable world. Sunday, July 18, 2010. As part of this sabbatical, we have been reconnecting with old relationships. We are staying with friends from Germany who we met in 1981! That is just about 30 years! It has been so great to reminisce, to laugh, to talk about those old stories. Seeing those stories from respective points of view. It's been refreshing, relaxing and restorative. And D...

Happy Life Changes | Word Sketches
https://austinjohnston.wordpress.com/2012/10/10/happy-life-changes
Glimpses into a life. Asymp; 3 Comments. On September 22 I agreed to change my life. Yes, that sounds dramatic, and actually I haven’t even gotten to the most dramatic part where my life really changes (that part where we take vows). Apparently I did all my angsting beforehand, because at the moment Ben asked me to marry him I felt very sure and peaceful, though it was still surreal, as I’ve heard from others who have experienced proposals before. Look how fun the banner is! Larr; Previous post. Back to ...

Always Thinking...: July 2008
http://stayengaged.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 9, 2008. A portion of my graduate work concentrated on cultures within the university environment. Thanks to Peter Magolda. A popular topic within student affairs and Peter's classes is generational theory. Right now, it is also common to wrap all of our current students into the category of the "Millennial Generation." A lot is being written. My main concern with generational theory is that is categorizes the majority culture. Clearly, these "traits" of the genera. I think this blog.

Always Thinking...: August 2008
http://stayengaged.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 27, 2008. The Good Ole Whirlwind. It's obviously been a long time since I posted, which makes it difficult to get back on the horse and write something new. There's this internal pressure to make it meaningful and connect to my mission of this blog without wasting your time on something. That just fills space. My decision today is to share a couple thoughts/happenings since I last posted and how I've made meaning of them. N tool for people of all kinds. I believe I will look back on...

Glimpses into a life. Dinner and a Movie. In a Time for Everything. Asymp; Leave a comment. And I have joked several times about our atypical dating relationship. We’ve been dating for a little over 9 months and have never done the dinner-and-a-movie date. We’ve had dinner, and we’ve watched movies, but we never did the going out to the movies thing. We stopped by Chick-fil-a for the “dinner” portion, and headed to the 7pm showing of. A few trailers (. The Dark Knight Rises. A girl in sketchy black leath...
