During the calm few days between christmas and new year's, we took a trip to san diego with my mom and dad. the kids LOVE staying in hotels (since it is the only place they are allowed to jump on beds! And it made it especially sweet to be with their grammy and epa. we stayed one night in carlsbad. This week for dinner.

On saturday bella's daisy troop went to a biological wetland reserve in downtown long beach. they spent the afternoon picking up trash in the reserve and earned their coastal clean-up badge. Brooke, the gal leading their troop, was fabulous with them. she even brought them binoculars so they could bird watch from atop the reserve.

I just love love LOVE all things valentine-y! Mike and i are not big on the holiday as a couple, but i love to decorate the house, create valentine's with the kids and celebrate it in my classroom. this year was no exception. bella and ella made these crafty little "BEE mine" valentine frames. Bella and i made s'mores for her class.
