tangentwoman: Lots of feelings
http://tangentwoman.blogspot.com/2010/09/lots-of-feelings.html
Thursday, September 30, 2010. This morning, I got up around 4:30, trying to stay roughly on East Coast time. I got to the gym before it got completely packed, luckily (when I arrived, there was only one other person in there, using the free weights. 45 minutes later, every machine was taken and there were five people waiting). But, once I was back in my room, I started feeling queasy and dehydrated (the downside of going to the gym so early: nowhere to buy water so early) and exhausted. Man, I am OLD.

tangentwoman: September 2005

Friday, September 30, 2005. I'm just not that into you. It has been a heck of a few weeks. I'm tired from all of my travel; I'm stressed out from work; I'm cranky from both. I am wearing the most appropriate underpants of all time today: Oscar the Grouch on the front, with "I feel grouchy today! Across the waist band. These actually make me feel much better. And then, the task of calling everyone to let them know the outcome. Boo. I have issues, I think. Posted by tangentwoman at 4:11 PM. So now I'm extr...

tangentwoman: August 2005

Wednesday, August 31, 2005. Eventually, our leadership came around to the notion that business casual from Memorial Day to Labor Day would make good sense, and I agree wholeheartedly, especially because Minnams and I have great fun with people's - almost always men's - interpretation and execution of business casual. And will being an actual grown-up mean that I'll actually be excited about the food issue of the New Yorker? It's now totally wasted on me (Gina, it's all yours if you want it! Flipped him o...

Sunday, July 31, 2005. Snapshots from 'Toga 2005. When we were about 40 minutes from the hotel, driving down the highway, Smelmooo said, "Hey! Isn't that El Salvador Chris? I bet $5 on my first race, meaning I get to cross another item (specifically, #35) off of my 101 in 1001. Doing so brought me good luck, as I won my biggest race of the day with that bet, clearing $18.75 (I was up about $10 for the whole day, which is fine by me). On the way home this morning, we stopped off at the hospital to see our...

Wednesday, November 30, 2005. Narcissistic Stinky = Sexy. Work and life have been crazy-busy during the last few weeks, and as a result I've fallen behind on my magazine-reading. I'm always behind on my New Yorkers, but somehow - between my schedule and huge delays in getting two of the last three issues - I feel way behind on People, as well. But in this People spread? When I look in the mirror, I see.my best friend.". I hope he means Penelope, like that they brush their teeth side-by-side in the mornin...

tangentwoman: June 2005
http://tangentwoman.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 28, 2005. I could have titled this "The Crabby Traveler, Part Deux" but I figured Springsteen needed a shout-out-ish. Which turned out to be better than Twizzlers, but still not quite what I had in mind, although The Last Straw may be my new Ben and Jerry's Scoop Shop flavor, and the name seemed particularly appropriate today. Posted by tangentwoman at 10:17 PM. Monday, June 27, 2005. This weekend, my family - all 18 of us - descended on a resort in Lancaster, PA. Thursday, June 23, 2005.

tangentwoman: October 2005
http://tangentwoman.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 31, 2005. So, I'm in two Yahoo groups related to football. The one, Pro Pick 'Em - where you have to pick each week which team will win, based on odds - I'm totally sucking at this year. The other, the Survival Pool, I was doing much better in (it didn't hurt that half the group forgot to pick the first week and was automatically out). So although I'm glad to be winning something, especially football-related, it feels a little undeserved. Posted by tangentwoman at 8:54 PM. I heard from a ...

tangentwoman: Aaaaaand a few more tips
http://tangentwoman.blogspot.com/2010/10/aaaaaand-few-more-tips.html
Tuesday, October 26, 2010. Aaaaaand a few more tips. I'm still getting resumes for my open position, so I'll share a few more tips for job-seekers. The last five minutes of an hour-long (first-round! Interview is NOT the time to say, "So, yeah, one more thing: what's the timing of your decision about a candidate? No one else should be able to get her! Uh, yep, no need; did you not get a reply saying we'll be in touch if you're a fit? No, I totally didn't get that! Yes, you did. Don't misspell my name....

tangentwoman: This and that
http://tangentwoman.blogspot.com/2010/12/this-and-that.html
Monday, December 20, 2010. Oh, so much is kicking about in this little brain of mine:. First, that sentence just triggered a flashback to my days in high school youth group, during which we'd carry candles and sing, "This Little Light of Mine," which is a catchy ditty and will therefore be stuck in my brain all afternoon. You're welcome.). Being able to give correct directions was that when I said, "Have a good day, and happy holidays! She replied, "Oh, thank you so, so much! I know this is old news at t...

tangentwoman: Good karma
http://tangentwoman.blogspot.com/2010/12/good-karma.html
Thursday, December 23, 2010. I'm convinced that the universe rewarded me for helping that lady with directions to Lord and Taylor earlier this week! Yesterday, the Smelmooo drove me to the train station in the morning, because it was cold and I was running late and he's chivalrous that way. I got out of the car and realized I didn't have my warm winter hat, and figured I'd left it at home in my rush to get out the door. And it kept me warm! And it kept its shape! He said zero; I said one percent. Thought...
