TrombleTrumpet

Saturday, December 12, 2009. Time Flies When You're Having Fun! It's been about 3 months since I posted last. It's no exaggeration to say that I'm playing better now - by a lot - than I ever have. I still have a lot to improve on - higher, faster, softer (got you there :) but my chops and air are working fine - I just have to put in the time on the fundamentals. I've got a lot of specific things to post on over the next few weeks, so will try not to leave another big gap. Posted by Galen Tromble. Today I...

TrombleTrumpet: Some Catching Up to Do

http://trombletrumpet.blogspot.com/2009/08/some-catching-up-to-do.html

Sunday, August 2, 2009. Some Catching Up to Do. I can't believe it has been almost a month since the last post. It has been an eventful several weeks. Here's a short summary -. The first couple of weeks I continued to make progress moving the new embouchure setting into real-life playing. Just as the Maryland Summer Jazz camp approached, I began having some problems - which I now attribute to trying to do too much too fast. I'll post more about this, and how it relates back to the leadpipe routine, next ...

TrombleTrumpet: Pitch and Power

http://trombletrumpet.blogspot.com/2009/07/pitch-and-power.html

Friday, July 3, 2009. Today's post is about two P's: Pitch and Power. No, this is not about throwing and hitting baseballs. Raise your hand if you blow hard and loud to play high notes. For each pitch that I'm working on, I generally do 10 to 20 repetitions of this exercise, then rest. Thanks Dr. Belck. Posted by Galen Tromble. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). TrombleTrumpet: September 2009

http://trombletrumpet.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

Monday, September 21, 2009. Too Good To Be True? The best trumpet playing week of my life just ended, and I'm still adjusting to how easy it is to play, as I build new habits based on last week's session with Doug Elliott. Every once in a while I find an old habit creeping back, but they have been easy to put back on the shelf, as soon as I realized what was happening. Posted by Galen Tromble. TrombleTrumpet: Sometimes you need to think!

http://trombletrumpet.blogspot.com/2009/06/sometimes-you-need-to-think.html

Saturday, June 27, 2009. Sometimes you need to think! But I also think there are times when thinking about things and making deliberate adjustments is a good idea. It certainly was yesterday. Keep in mind I've played that way for years. Today I have run through a little routine - starting with Stamp lip and mp buzzing, then, after a rest, doing the leadpipe on concert Eb, then adding the lower octave Eb, then adding the concert F a 9th above the original note. Trombles Custom Sawmill - Custom Milled Old Growth Lumber

Welcome to Trombles Custom Sawmill -. Specializing in Custom Milled Salvaged Old Growth Redwood -. Even our second growth woods are guilt-free and harvested responsibly. Many people are unaware of the damage bears can do to trees. They actually rip the bark off and eat the sap wood. When this happens, they open the tree up to fungus and bug problems, and eventually the tree begins to die. We harvest all our second growth wood from trees that are doomed to die from bear kills.
