Karl's birthday is tomorrow and we are trying to get him home to celebrate- He will be home for his bash on Saturday. Unfortunate news-Baylor Clinical Trials a no go and Karl is in the hospital. Usually if I can get him sitting he can help lift himself up- not this time so I had to call 911 and take him in to the hospital. He had a blood transfusion again yesterday. A Day In The Life. Thursday, March 30, 2006. Chemo still no word on when we start, maybe in two weeks. He had a CAT scan of his arm today and they will start local radiation to the spot on his arm where the reacurring melanoma happened. He's complaining that things are starting to taste weird so I am off to Whole Foods for organic fruits and veggies to juice him with this weekend- looks like we are going to switch to that soon as with the start of Chemo he loses his appetite. Other than having side effects from the antiseizure medicine making Karl tired, loopy and slurring like a drunk, things here are peaceful. Posted by LivingStrong at 8:03 PM. Karl met Jim Janovsky at the Cancer center we both go to. We have gotten to know him and his family. Jim had a 6 year battle with melanoma and passed away last night at 11:30.
