Tuesday, July 31, 2012. It's raining, it's pouring, the old streets are falling. Not all adventures in paradise are sunshiney and fun. For the last two days, St. Kitts has fallen victim to a Tropical Wave. And it has been pouring down rain nonstop. The power has gone out a few times, the internet has gone out a couple times. Awesome. I've been stuck in the house, and at first I was super bummed. Then I saw these photos:. Now all I need is the sunshine to come back so I can get IN the pool! Its raining, i...

Adventures in Paradise: October 2011
http://stephania27.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 24, 2011. A Tale of Two Hikes. Today was Ross's mid-semester break, which means all the students had the day off. Since Monday is Mad-Hikers day, us VIPs decided to bring our over-worked spouses on our hike up to the Bat Cave. As I was uploading my pictures from today, I realized I hadn't updated since early last week, and I have been on TWO hikes since then! A shot I took while on the hike today, I can't believe how amazing it turned out! I just found this website. Hanging from the ceili...

Adventures in Paradise: March 2012

Monday, March 26, 2012. RWS: The Future Bionic Man. Rob was unable to support his own weight, so Enrique had to carry him all the way up our basements stairs and dump him and his messed up knee on the couch. After the guys left, Rob explained that some kid basically tackled him (FLAG FOOTBALL PEOPLE! NOT A CONTACT SPORT) while he was turning, and Rob heard and felt his knee pop. Oh, and this was in the first few minutes of the game. Nice, right? It's always an adventure with Rob! Wednesday, March 7, 2012.

Tuesday, January 31, 2012. My friend Catherine has her own blog about living in St. Kitts, and she does a {Conversations} segment in which she recounts hilarious conversations that have taken place here in St. Kitts. I was even featured in one of these segments, check it out. Well, I have had two moments that I think fit the {Conversations} genre. While shopping in Karibhana's (a SK department store):. Kate- Do you know what I really want? Kate - A machete. (dead serious). Wednesday, January 25, 2012.

Tuesday, May 1, 2012. Our Egypt BFFs come to town! Rob and I have been really lucky to have a lot of friends and family come visit us since we moved to St. Kitts. My cousin Lia and friend Mauri came down in October for my birthday, my cousin JP came in Feb/March, my parents visited the beginning of April, and most recently, our friend Beth and Damian visited from the UK. Damian and Beth by the river at Wingfield Estate. The best part was they planned a nice long 10 day vacation! Rob also took Beth and Da...

Adventures in Paradise: SK v. USA
http://stephania27.blogspot.com/2012/05/sk-v-usa.html
Sunday, May 27, 2012. This here is a throw down between St. Kitts and good ol' America. Being home for two weeks has brought some discrepancies, both large and small, between SK and the USA to my attention. Some differences are nice, some are annoying. Win- St. Kitts. The temperature in the ATL has been about 5-10 degrees hotter than it's been in St. Kitts since I've been here. It was 94 degrees the other day! That's pretty awesome, but not awesome enough for the win. Win- St. Kitts. Win- St. Kitts.

Adventures in Paradise: December 2011
http://stephania27.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 31, 2011. Thanks for a good time 2011! Happy New Years 2012! 2011 has been quite a year for me and Rob. We began our year still in Cairo, Egypt, where I was working for Dr. Zahi Hawass. And the Supreme Council of Antiquities. Ground zero of the Cairo protests, the night Mubarak stepped down. It was interesting to see how quickly the protesting turned into partying. While I wouldn't want to do it again, it's kinda cool to say that you've lived through a revolution! An ancient Roman city.
