True Family offers the viewer a rare and intimate portrait of Meschiya Lake by following her in a period in time when she was busking in the streets with different musicians putting together her own band – The Little Big Horns. The first time I heard Meschiya Lake was back in 2008. She was busking in the streets of the French Quarter in New Orleans and I was immediately blown away by her powerful voice and her amazing karishma.
