The private musings of a 40-something Mom. Friday, April 24, 2015. This is my mom's FAMOUS bao, that she always made for our New Year's Eve open houses. I now make it every year for Chinese New Year. The steamed rolls (filled or unfilled) freeze really well. Chinese Bread (Bao Dough). Makes 24 rolls (unfilled). Dry yeast (2 1/4 t). Sift together flour, salt, and 1/4 c sugar. It's a favorite in our house, and the muffins freeze really well. Don't overdo the spices, or it will overwhelm the lovely strawberry flavor. Katie's Own Strawberry Muffins. I've made it hundreds of times and I always get asked for the recipe. So here it is. Brownie mix for 9x13 pan. Frosting - 3 c powdered sugar, 3 T cream, 6 T melted butter, 1 t peppermint extract (or to taste), green food coloring. Topping - 5 oz unsweetened chocolate, 6 T butter. Posted by Katie Bonner. The private musings of a 40-something Mom. Wednesday, January 04, 2012. New Year's resolutions are so often "do less" declarations (eat less, yell less, etc.). For 2012, I want to focus on the "do more" declarations. What do I want to "do more" of in 2012? Dance (even if there's no music). Make time for friends and family. Walk in the grass barefoot. Make kitchen messes, and let the kids help. Take walks with my children. Let go and have fun. Visit museums of all kinds. Dig in the dirt.
