Trying Homeschooling

Our tester year of homeschooling. Wednesday, February 2, 2011. Homeschooling has been going well as of late. I still have times where I feel like I am failing at my current job but I know that is a normal feeling. We are still doing 2 pages of Singapore Math each day, a lesson in "Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons," and an art project but I have added more cards to our organizer chart. After reading a friend's blog. Friday, January 14, 2011. A Day in the Life. Our days are never exactly the sa...

Trying Homeschooling: Dealing with Difficult Days

http://www.tryinghomeschooling.blogspot.com/2010/12/dealing-with-difficult-days.html

Our tester year of homeschooling. Friday, December 10, 2010. Dealing with Difficult Days. Make a stack of activity cards which they will put in the order they would like to do them each day. I also made a star chart. My boys love prizes. This seemed to work well today. I gave them a star if they got the activity card done without complaining. If they fill up the chart they will get some sort of prize. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Dealing with Difficult Days. Jesse Tree Day 2.

Sites of All Kinds: March/April Family Time

http://hahsites.blogspot.com/2013/04/marchapril-family-time.html

Sites of All Kinds. Tuesday, April 23, 2013. Brian's parents visited us in Cincinnati on Easter. We went to Newport, which offers a great view of the Cincinnati skyline. After greeting these new strangers to her domain. Stella decided to ignore them. The Count of course, went to find a familiar lap instead. The next weekend, I went to Holland briefly to see my mom. We had a nice visit together. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Check out these blogs.

Sites of All Kinds: July 2012

http://hahsites.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html

Sites of All Kinds. Monday, July 23, 2012. It has been quite a while since our last post. I have been spending a lot of time in Indiana working. I don't want to post details on the internet, but in general we are examining archaeological materials in an area that will soon be covered by a road. Here I am with one of my coworkers:. Over the past week, we have had some impressive clouds appearing in the afternoon. We haven't gotten significant rain from these clouds, but they are still nice to observe.

Sites of All Kinds: August 2012

http://hahsites.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html

Sites of All Kinds. Tuesday, August 21, 2012. A few weeks ago, we went to Irishfest in Columbus. It is a great place to listen to festive music, eat delicious food, and look at fun craft items. It was good to see Brian's parents and enjoy the festival. Sunday, August 19, 2012. Last weekend, my parents visited us and we went out for a couple great fish meals. Since we were in a fish groove, we decided to have more this week and experiment with crab. Wednesday, August 1, 2012. Brian, under the city:.

http://hahsites.blogspot.com/2013/04/the-cats.html

Sites of All Kinds. Tuesday, April 23, 2013. Hanging out with Brian. Snuggling on my chair (a frequent napping spot). The Count loves to sit on fresh laundry. The Count is also a devoted sun-bather, sprawling in sun beams daily. Stella is a little more prim and collected, even in casual moments. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Check out these blogs.

Sites of All Kinds. Wednesday, March 21, 2012. Before I went to Hungary, Brian's parents came to visit us in Cincinnati. We spent a nice afternoon together, despite the chilly, windy weather. We went to the courthouse, saw a bit of the downtown area, and visited some nearby neighborhoods. Here are some pictures from that trip. Fountain Square, downtown:. A downtown restaurant (the car is now gone- I saw workers removing it the next week! Saturday, March 10, 2012. Thursday, March 1, 2012.

Sites of All Kinds: Orlando Vacation

http://hahsites.blogspot.com/2013/04/orlando-vacation.html

Sites of All Kinds. Tuesday, April 23, 2013. A couple weeks ago, Brian and I went to Orlando to spend some time with his family. It was a nice break from the chilly spring and the end-of-semester crunch. I chose swimming over chess. Plenty of indoor relaxing time too. We also played a little shuffleboard. And of course, we played a round of mini-golf. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Check out these blogs.

Sites of All Kinds: January 2012

http://hahsites.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Sites of All Kinds. Wednesday, January 25, 2012. The most time consuming part was filling the dumplings. I used pre-made dumpling wrappers to save time, which worked well. I forgot to take a picture with them all on a plate, but here are a few that I ate last. :). And now for something completely different, here are the ferrets hanging out together. So cute! Sunday, January 22, 2012. Painting, take 2. All those slanted walls made the painting surface quite large. Yes, the tree is still up. This last shot...

Sites of All Kinds. Tuesday, February 21, 2012. Living room decor and hair cut. I have spent some time this week setting up a few more things in our house. Now that the living room is painted, I was able to make the large bookshelf and attach it to the wall. I also started unpacking artwork and getting it put up. Today, I got my hair cut! I wanted to have it short for Hungary, so it will take less time to wash. Plus, it was getting annoyingly long. Here is the before shot:. Friday, February 10, 2012.

Sites of All Kinds. Monday, June 11, 2012. There was a lot of packing and sorting and throwing away to do. David and Dad by the front deck. The lovely green plant at David's feet is a mat of thyme. Rachel's folks and my Mom: We grilled burgers and asparagus and had some folks over to celebrate D&R's anniversary (10 years! When I told Joes that we were celebrating his parents' anniversary, he asked if they had ever had one before. Also, I am in serious danger of getting sprayed by the hose.

Sites of All Kinds. Friday, September 7, 2012. Several weeks ago, my parents came to visit us in Cincinnati for the weekend. During their time here, we did several interesting activities together. We viewed Cincinnati from the top of Carew Tower. We went to some interesting restaurants. We went to the aquarium (see next post). I was really happy they had a chance to come visit us. First a few pics from the top of Carew Tower -. SSE view, with the Reds stadium peeking out behind the central building:.

The good. the bad. the ugly. The good - all moles and masses are benign. must see the dermatologist every 6 months due to "atypical" results. must have mammogram every 6 months due to calcifications that need to be monitored. good grief. The bad - tumor and tissue in right boob must come out. it's rare, fast growing and could become malignant if left alone. I'll have surgery next month. the radiologist explained to me that a biopsy alone cannot reveal everything and they are not always correct. Each site...
