Tuesday, May 26, 2009. Beltran to undergo MRI on knee. Carlos Beltran will have an MRI performed on his ailing right knee. The knee, which apparently has been bothering him the last week, caused Beltran to serve as the team's designated hitter against the Boston Red Sox over the weekend. Wednesday, May 27, 2009. Orioles make some moves. The Baltimore Orioles have placed right-hander Koji Uehara on the 15-day disabled list, replacing him on the roster with outfielder Luke Scott, who had been sidelined with a shoulder injury. Uehara exited Saturday's 2-1 win against the Washington Nationals after three innings with soreness in his left hamstring. In nine starts this season, Uehara is 2-3 with a 4.09 earned run average. Of course, should Wieters stick with the Orioles.

Tuesday, May 26, 2009. Montanez headed to DL. The Baltimore Orioles have placed outfielder Lou Montanez on the 15-day disabled list with torn ligaments in his right thumb. Montanez will undergo surgery to repair the tear and could miss the next two months. Montanez hurt the thumb making a diving catch in Toronto three weeks ago, but has been playing through the pain. By Major League Baseball for a positive drug test, the commissioner's office announced this afternoon. Maiques tested positive for a "drug of abuse", according the official release. Tuesday, May 26, 2009. Pujols, Brewers dominate early All-Star voting. St Louis first baseman Albert Pujols is among the leaders in the first National League balloting update. For the 80th All-Star Game, which will be played on July 14 at Busch Stadium in St. Louis. His Cardinals' teammate, catcher Yadier Molina is also among the leaders. A seven-time All-Star and a two-time MVP, Pujols leads all vote-getters with 842,058 votes. An American League balloting update will be released on Wednesday.
