Monday, June 05, 2006. Interesting Performance Problem Part II. In my last post I discussed a problem with a slow running query. In this post I will explain why. The answer to the problem can be seen if you look at the execution plan for the query. To do this from query analyzer choose the query - Show Execution Plan from the top menu. Alternatively execute 'set showplan Text ON'. This will cause the output to display the execution plan not the results. Once this is done you will see the following:.
