Friday, December 4, 2009. Wind the bobbin up and snowmen’s body parts. We are the Gelsthorpes from Newbury in. And we arrived in. After spending a few days in. We took the long train journey up to Itayanagi and the Ghents. We arrived on the 6. Of October feeling exhausted from jet-lag but also really excited about being here, this was something we had been planning and talking about for months! On our first full day here we went to Harvest Chapel, a church which they are physically building themselves.

Wednesday, February 10, 2010. As a church we try to get away for a 24 hour retreat 2 times a year. For the winter retreat we use a government facility for free and pay 1200 yen(about $12) for 3 meals that are provided. We go sliding, play in the gym amd have 3 study/worship sessions. One of the church's all combined worship services of the year is held at the retreat place at the end. This year our theme was joy- it actually was enjoyable. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Monday, January 18, 2010. Skiing on Mt Iwaki. Jan 9th saw a number of church folk on the slopes. It was initiated by the church youth group but in all about 20 folk skied. The weather was great- lots of new snow and not much wind. Even Ruth Mae was coaxed to go by her daughter conditional on lessons. She managed 2 times down on top of the skiis.
