http://knittingsitting.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Knitting Sweaters and Sitting Still. People can get a thrill. Sunday, November 30, 2014. I managed to do a LOT of knitting this week! I finished the body of the sweater up to 18 inches. I originally knitted up to 18.5 inches based on my memory of reading the notes from Jeff's version. I'm not sure what kind of collar to make. For Jeff's, I did a 1x1 ribbed collar twice as long as needed and then sewed it back under. But this is a little small for my big head. I still have some time to think t...After cra...

Knit Zilla: March 2015

March 30, 2015. I just can't resist taking pictures of the tulips in bloom, each year. It is always such a joy, when the weather warms and all of the flowering trees are in bloom. These tulips are growing in the planter boxes just outside my office. They are so pretty to look at each morning. The Spring weather can be quite fickle here in SLC, but even with threat of frost, everyone is always in a hurry to bring out their shorts and tank tops. This is the "Small Things Romper" by Carina Spencer. Along wi...

Monday, October 6, 2008. The Epic Garter Saga continues.). I could smash my head against a wall for not thinking of this sooner, but hey, maybe if I write this down instead of self-flagellating, I'll do better next time I have some complex lace to knit. ALWAYS USE A LIFELINE. Here's a Lace knitting FAQ. Halfway down the page are instructions on how to use a lifeline. Right now I'm using dental floss, so the garter might have a minty fresh scent after all is said and done. Swatching: The Final Frontier.

Thursday, March 18, 2010. FO: "Kimono Classic" by Vicki Square. Aka, Rachel's Cardigan! The pattern can be found in Ann Budd's " Simple Style. The recommended fibre is Berocco Softwist (a blend of rayon and wool), but working with a limited budget, we decided on "I Love This Yarn" acrylic (the Hobby Lobby house brand). I worked gauge swatches in both the recommended needle size for both the yarn and the pattern (size 8), but went up to 10s to get the drape required. Enough bibbling - now for pics! Intere...

Sunday, September 14, 2008. Pink Bliss, so sweet…. At about 7:00 this lazy rainy Sunday morning I suddenly woke up and jumped out of my dream where I was in my stash looking for yarn to make the Cuffed Tweed Mittens. In the latest Interweave FELT. The photo is of Debbie Bliss Donegal Tweed. And I am so in love with the color it makes squeal. I bought a few skeins (3 to be exact) on a shopping trip with some fellow knitter friends. I recently purchased the Kate Gilbert's Bird in Hand. Pattern (checkout Ra...
