When I was younger, they used to be at every cinema selling the wide variety of kacang (or nuts in Malay) to movie goers who would munch on the snack while enjoying the movie. Located at Minden Road is St George's Church which was constructed between 1910 and 1913. There was an earlier St George's Church built for the British. Troops stationed at Tanglin Barracks.
