Chris & Sandy's World Adventures: January 2008

http://www.tuckerworldtripblog.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html

Chris and Sandy's World Adventures. Monday, January 21, 2008. Antarctica and the Falklands. Jan 8 (contd.). Went for a walk up to the sports deck on the 9. Floor and got the basics from one of the staff on how to play shuffleboard so at the moment it is 2 all. Also played a game of tennis which is damn difficult on a boat when you are moving – although chris had no trouble beating me J. Went for a swim this afternoon with mom in force 5 winds so the pool reminded me of. Early wake up at. Tomato soup, pie...

Chris & Sandy's World Adventures: Norway to Estonia

http://www.tuckerworldtripblog.blogspot.com/2008/08/norway-to-estonia.html

Chris and Sandy's World Adventures. Saturday, August 30, 2008. First day on the trip and we have a day to explore. City We are first driven to a sculpture garden where there are lots of naked statues and a water feature. The weather is not that great, but interesting enough to keep us out for a while. After this was a drive to a Viking museum where there were a few old ships on display. No one was really interested in more museums so we were dropped off in town and could do whatever until. We walk around...

Chris and Sandy's World Adventures. Tuesday, July 29, 2008. Of about 4:30am to drive to. Arrived at airport at about. Donna picked us up from the airport. Hasn’t seen her since they were about 10! Lots of talking and a really good meal before calling it a night and heading back to sleep. Packed our bags tonight as we had an early morning. Our flight is at. So Donna dropped us off at about. At the airport – lots of hugs and then we were off again to. 8221; – what does the guy think we are? After being ask...

Chris & Sandy's World Adventures: July 2008

http://www.tuckerworldtripblog.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html

Chris and Sandy's World Adventures. Tuesday, July 29, 2008. Early morning start as we are going to walk off the ship – means we take our bags with us rather than them being collected the night before and placed in a room in the port area. Last few times it has been a bit chaotic getting them and we have to hang around on the ship longer as well. We were off by. So had a chat and got ready to head into town to go and see the musical Wicked. Left around. So didn’t have to stress tomorrow. This meant we wer...

Chucky's Adventures: March 2011

http://chuckysadventures.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, March 20, 2011. Brumms Ck, Lake Brunner. After a slightly grey/cold day in Arthurs pass, we were very pleased to wake to clear skies. As we drove to the coast, the warm sun melted away all memories of the 4 degree night. We cruised over to Brumms Creek and after a bit of a recce, we found the farmer to ask for permission to cross his land to reach the forest. He didn't seem to mind at all, or really care what we did provided we didn't bother his stock and left the gates as we found them. Past the...

Chucky's Adventures: June 2011

http://chuckysadventures.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Sunday, June 12, 2011. Had a good day with Chris, doing a circuit of Kapakapanui, Southern Tararua's. As we'd both been here before, the main aim was to be the 'First to Find' a new Geocache up near the top, as well as a bunch of older caches. The day started clear and warm, but as we climbed, standard Tararua weather (wind and cloud) set in. It didn't rain on us though till right near the end of our 6 hr trip. 5 Geocaches, including a fresh one! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Chucky's Adventures: March 2012

http://chuckysadventures.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, March 11, 2012. Woolshed Creek Canyon, Mt Sommers. As the weather forecast looked rubbish for the divide, we escaped east to Woolshed Creek for our Sunday's canyoning. Though the sky was grey and rain showers gripped the mountains to the south, we climbed up and entered the Canyon. The water levels were alread pretty low and since I'd been before in very high water levels and knew the exits I was comfortable to continue. Saturday, March 10, 2012. Chucky's Adventures: February 2012

http://chuckysadventures.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Saturday, February 4, 2012. Chamberlain Creek, Tararua FP. Metservice promised a near perfect Waitangi weekend. Mother nature delivered a grey cold drizzly one. But regardless, an adventure was had in Chamberlain Creek by Pip, Chucky and Lara. I'd done Chamberlain in 2006 as my 2nd ever canyon and was looking forward to seeing what I thought of this trip now. It was cold and grey, so our choice of shortie wetsuits wasn't the best, though we did stay just warm enough. Chamberlain was quite a bit mello...

Chucky's Adventures: August 2011

http://chuckysadventures.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html

Monday, August 1, 2011. European Canyoning Holiday, Switzerland and Italy. For 3 weeks in August, we had an amazing canyoning holiday in Switzerland and Italy. Our Swiss friends Andy and George met a jet lagged pair of Kiwi's at Zurich, to show us round the city sights for the day. Following that, Andy organised a bunch of friends to go do a Kletterstieg (climbing path) in central Switzerland. The Kletterstieg was Pips first and she seemed to really enjoy the trip, despite it being a relatively tame route.

Chucky's Adventures: May 2014

http://chuckysadventures.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html

Sunday, May 18, 2014. Te Manga, Rarotonga Tramping (Hiking). Rarotonga, Cook Islands. Whilst perusing all the tourist pamphlets and information on Rarotonga, there were plenty of references to a half dozen or so tramping tracks through the island, but there didn’t seem to be any more information than the name, a sentence description with time and vague line heading inland on the road map…. 8220;Rarotonga’s Mountain Tracks and Plants” Gerald McCormack and Judith Kunzle. Chucky's Adventures: October 2010

http://chuckysadventures.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Saturday, October 30, 2010. Death Road MTB, La Paz, Bolivia. Well, this was one activity I swore that I was not going to do. Anyone who knows me, knows that I´m the worlds biggest wus when it comes to sketchy roads and drivers I don´t trust. The ride down began on the new road, which was generally well sealed and had guard rails. The most dangerous bit was the erratic traffic! At "La Cumbre" the summit of the North Yungas Road. Good times on the "new road". Nice drop offs on the Original Death Road.

Chucky's Adventures: December 2010

http://chuckysadventures.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Wednesday, December 1, 2010. Refugio Jakob, PN Nahuel Huapi, Argentina. Following the Lonely Planet suggestions, we embarked on 'the most popular hike in Argentina'. Though the first day it was windy and snowing up high, we walked up the sheltered Arroyo Van Titter to Refugio Frey. We spent the afternoon watching the snow storm over the cirque from the warm of the Refugio and marvelling at all the amazing Towers with hundreds of rock routes. Walking up Arroyo Van Titter towards Refugio Frey. Refugio Jako...

Toine, Bernat and I were joined by Bruce for todays trip, which was intended to be nice and mellow after a long day in Whiskey Falls on the first descent. Check out Doom Creek on KiwiCanyons.org. Beyond School

Thursday, July 30, 2009. Sharon and I just completed day 4 of the P90 X program (Yoga X). I found sore spots and weak spots in my back. A guy sure finds out how weak he is after starting this program. I've also noticed that after just 3 days I'm already getting stronger and more flexible because I'm able to do more of the exercises and my form is better. The balancing exercises were hard, too. I could get my leg up, but I couldn't get it as high as the guys on the DVD. I know that will come, also. He say...
