Wednesday, April 13, 2011. This really is a lovely cake. Lovely. And rustic looking. (Read: imperfections rule! The sponge cake is brushed with a rum flavored syrup and then filled with coconut custard before being cloaked in a luscious whipped cream frosting and sprinkled with toasted coconut. De-li-cious! PS The cake part of this recipe is just a really great sponge cake. Easy to make and well behaved, with a light, fluffy crumb. It would be a great addition to your cake repertoire :). And 1/2 cup milk.

They’re a Nigella Lawson recipe and every time I make them only about half of the recipe actually makes it to the table. *Ahem* They are so addicting! Friday, April 1, 2011. I’m not usually a huge fan of rice. But this rice is special. It has cinnamon and clove and cardamom in it but it’s not sweet. It has an exotic, pungent flavor that I just love. So do my kids, they’ll eat this like they’ve never had food before! And it doesn’t take forever to cook, which is really nice. Tuesday, March 3, 2009. I have just completed this week's challenge - Tomato and Cheese Galette. Let me tell you, it was delicious! So, the recipe for the galette calls for 1/2 of the pastry recipe. HOWEVER, you will definitely want to make the full portion of the dough so that you can make two galettes. I used only two plum tomatoes for the entire thing, not the three or four per each they suggest; they must be using much smaller tomatoes! Good ladies, perhaps, dare I say, even better than pizza?
