The Voyage of Wendy Ann 2: June 2006
http://thevoyageofwendyann2.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
The Voyage of Wendy Ann 2. Friday, June 23, 2006. Destroy Almost Everything Else. Or 'What’s this? One thing that I’d have liked to witness but unfortunately missed due to having a job was the day they pulled the two exhausts out of the funnel. These eight foot long tubes had developed huge rusty holes in the wrong places and were about to follow the engine parts to metal heaven- aka. China. Beneath the filth the concrete laid in wait. I think it was deliberately trying to look menacing. Corrosion. E...

The Voyage of Wendy Ann 2: May 2006

The Voyage of Wendy Ann 2. Wednesday, May 31, 2006. We did obtain an in water survey. It wasn't worth the paper it was written on, let alone what we paid for it. I was later to discover that broker and surveyor were old mates. Bugger. Once upon a time Wendy Ann was well looked after. We have large boots to fill and deep pockets to muster if we are to reverse the damage of years of neglect. Posted by IsmilebecauseIhavenoideawhatsgoingon at 5:13 pm. Tuesday, May 30, 2006. Back in the Beginning.

The Voyage of Wendy Ann 2: September 2006
http://thevoyageofwendyann2.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
The Voyage of Wendy Ann 2. Wednesday, September 06, 2006. I can’t believe I’m about to write this. It’s the last night of the needle hire and the forward accommodation is done. The engine room is done. The stuff on deck is done enough. The bosun’s store and trim are not done. I’ve done it, even though it’s September. My hands and arms really hurt. The muscles in my forearms and back are singing to me and I may has well have whacked my palms, elbows and brain repeatedly with a hammer. But I did it. Bank h...

The Voyage of Wendy Ann 2: August 2006

The Voyage of Wendy Ann 2. Thursday, August 24, 2006. Last Weekend, The End of Filth? It’s nearly upon us, or is it? I’ve got 1 bilge compartment to do and a zoom up the keel bit and I will Finally beat the engine room bilges. Not so infamous now are they? But try telling people there was so much bitumen in those bilges, easily an inch thick in places and they think you’re an obsessive lunatic (again) and their own eyes start to glaze over. Also Robin has been busy in my absence, bravely getting down wit...

The Voyage of Wendy Ann 2: July 2006
http://thevoyageofwendyann2.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html
The Voyage of Wendy Ann 2. Friday, July 28, 2006. Isn't this the coolest thing? Yep It's a model of Wendy Ann 2 in her Poole harbour heyday. And it's nearly accurate (no rusty bits, stem is actually more bluff, aft wheelhouse cabin has changed again since then.) I found it whilst idly trawling the web, and have tried contacting the maker to no avail. I wonder where it is now? Posted by IsmilebecauseIhavenoideawhatsgoingon at 11:21 am. Posted by IsmilebecauseIhavenoideawhatsgoingon at 8:35 am. August into...

The Voyage of Wendy Ann 2: December 2006

The Voyage of Wendy Ann 2. Tuesday, December 19, 2006. Is Mechanical Dexterity Hereditary? An interesting question. Ponder this, I sometimes wonder how much I inherited my Father’s ability with making things- he’s certainly always encouraged my interest in and devotions to tinkering with anything vaguely machine based. I reckon certain Dads just have a certain way about them. What’s he do then? So there it is, maybe (hehe) I’ve proved that steel really does get into your blood, and that we pass it on.

The Voyage of Wendy Ann 2: November 2006

The Voyage of Wendy Ann 2. Monday, November 20, 2006. Students, up for anything, Bless ‘em. Posted by IsmilebecauseIhavenoideawhatsgoingon at 9:58 pm. Robin has nearly, nearly finished welding along all the plate lines and around every single rivet head beneath the waterline on the forward third of the hull. This is very cool, and to prove it here's a cool picture of him in action. Posted by IsmilebecauseIhavenoideawhatsgoingon at 9:18 pm. Where on earth can we find the money in a hurry? We temporarily l...

The Voyage of Wendy Ann 2: October 2006
http://thevoyageofwendyann2.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
The Voyage of Wendy Ann 2. Sunday, October 22, 2006. I am Not at the boat Yet Again, and I’m trying not to think I’m going to explode. I suppose maybe just life is getting in the way but I get disgruntled enough that progress is too slow even without these weekends off. Like I’m neglecting care of my soul. So what’s to report whilst without the big steel thing that stole my heart? Posted by IsmilebecauseIhavenoideawhatsgoingon at 1:04 pm. Wednesday, October 18, 2006. Been Gone Too Long. It has been a lon...

The Voyage of Wendy Ann 2. Monday, February 05, 2007. Imagine B’s mirth when, as she paid for a dozen bottles of cheap coke and god knows how many of best brown vinegar the nice Chinese lady at the checkout looked up, smiled and said ‘you have big chip sup tonight yes? I should coco, that’s probably enough vinegar to bring about the final extinction of cod. So check it out, Wendy’s windows are back in effect, I just need to template them for new glass and replace the knackered seals and cor blimey guvnor...
