Crocodile Farm

Croc meat: not too bad, but nothing special. The owners’ wedding photo, displayed by the stuffed crocs. The dog likes to taunt the emus, then run off. He likes provoking the crocs too.
Fraser Island

Fraser Island, off the east coast, is home to protected wild dingoes, a spectacular shipwreck, and lakes so clear that when you tread water, you can see your feet like you’re looking through a pane of glass. The ocean is lethal, full of riptides and sharks, but the lakes are paradise and I wish I could just live in one. The creek is so clear you can’t even see it in this picture. Driving down 75 Mile Beach, which is an actual highway. It’s so gorgeous it looks like a fake movie backdrop.

My time in Coral Bay was one of the best parts of my trip. I went snorkeling with manta rays and saw a big shark on one of my scuba dives. Also stingrays, moray eels, beautiful fish, over 150 kinds of coral, and did I mention the big shark? The Ningaloo Reef - Coral Bay. Getting ready to go snorkeling with the manta rays. On the back of the boat, waiting for the signal. Our guide, giving us the thumbs up to jump in. Going to meet the manta. Watching her barrel-roll underwater. While she eats her plankton.

The highlight of the gorgeous drive from Adelaide to Melbourne on the Great Ocean Road: the Twelve Apostles, shown above. The Great Ocean Road. Driving through the Adelaide Hills on the way to the G.O.R. This cow wandered over to say hi. Mini ferry ride over the Glenelg River. Joel’s in the lower left, so you get an idea of its size. I decided to go all the way and do the 15,000-foot jump, because 12,000 feet is for sissies. I wasn’t scared a bit.until I was actually out of the plane and in. Which lasted 60 seconds. I could see the curve of the Earth! Skydiving - Lake Taupo, NZ. With Damo, my tandem diver. Above 12k feet they give you a little extra oxygen. Sitting on the edge of the plane. This is where the fear began. But the view distracted me from the pure terror. I look like Snoopy in his Flying Ace outfit.
