The Colonic: Tarzana Whole Foods rocks the house, part II
http://thecolonic.blogspot.com/2010/07/tarzana-whole-foods-rocks-house-part-ii.html
Thursday, July 29, 2010. Tarzana Whole Foods rocks the house, part II. However brief my stint in LA, I always try to cram in as much deliciousness as possible before I return to the veg-mediocre District of Columbia. Thanks to the new Tarzana. Whole Foods, the perfect meal is a hot 5 minutes from my house. On my last trip to LA, I ranted about the new location's vegan baklava and to-go bar. The ingredients are simple enough: olive ciabatta. Some kind of flavored hummus, a really rockin. And hummus togeth...

The Colonic: the hardest part of being a gluten-free vegan...
http://thecolonic.blogspot.com/2011/08/hardest-part-of-being-gluten-free-vegan.html
Thursday, August 18, 2011. The hardest part of being a gluten-free vegan. Being a gluten-free vegan is very do-able, but challenging. However, I have a bigger problem than the handful of GF. Options at my favorite veg restaurants, or the burden of carrying mini packets of GF. Soy sauce in my bag. The hardest part of being a gluten-free vegan is dealing with the people around me, and in many instances, the closest people to me. Since I was diagnosed with Celiac. Dramatically reduced and improving regularly.

The Colonic: gone bananas for baked bananas
http://thecolonic.blogspot.com/2011/10/gone-bananas-for-baked-bananas.html
Sunday, October 2, 2011. Gone bananas for baked bananas. New obsession alert: baked banana. I shy away from complicated recipes. Because, let's be real, life is already complicated enough without long ingredient lists and big messes. Then I found the easiest recipe in the world:. 1) Set oven to 400 degrees. 2) Insert whole banana. 3) Bake for 15 minutes. I was a little freaked out when I saw the banana was black (like really, did I mess up this simple of a recipe? Bear-banana, I knew it was true love.

The Colonic: If you're leaving veganism, be honest about it.
http://thecolonic.blogspot.com/2011/05/if-youre-leaving-veganism-be-honest.html
Tuesday, May 17, 2011. If you're leaving veganism, be honest about it. I was quite peeved to read about Ginnifer Goodwin's cowardly bow out of veganism. If you no longer desire to be a vegan, just be honest that you wanted to stuff your face with animal flesh, lactation, or embryos. No one can knock you for sharing your sincere feelings. The Colonic: using transphobia to fight animal abuse?
http://thecolonic.blogspot.com/2009/02/using-transphobia-to-fight-animal-abuse.html
Tuesday, February 17, 2009. Using transphobia to fight animal abuse? PETA is no stranger to exploiting sexism to push a vegan agenda. Sex sells mindless consumption. Veganism. Is hardly an ill-thought choice. Enter transphobia. Green gossip blog Ecorazzi. Hey PETA, stick with throwing paint, hosting demonstrations, and releasing undercover footage. Your posters and commercials are an embarrassment. To vegans who support you- myself included. February 18, 2009 at 1:49 AM. February 18, 2009 at 6:19 PM.

The Colonic: rethinking the beef cake: weight lifting and the regulation of male bodies
http://thecolonic.blogspot.com/2009/01/rethinking-beef-cake-weight-lifting-and.html
Tuesday, January 6, 2009. Rethinking the beef cake: weight lifting and the regulation of male bodies. I suppose it all began that first day I sat in a small office for my fitness consultation. I was very adamant in my goals. "I want to be strong," I said. "Very strong. I want to be able to do pull ups and one-armed push ups. I don't care about weight loss. I want to be strong.". I stammered a bit, admittedly confused. "I want to be healthy and strong," I insisted. There is much more going on here. In dis...

The Colonic: soy milk and Manolos: reflecting on one year of veganism
http://thecolonic.blogspot.com/2008/11/soy-milk-and-manolos-reflecting-on-one.html
Wednesday, November 26, 2008. Soy milk and Manolos: reflecting on one year of veganism. Today marks the day that, one year ago, I began my vegan transformation. I have to say, I am still excited and happy as ever to be leading an animal-free dietary lifestyle. I have reduced my carbon footprint, improved my digestion, and experience overall feelings of heightened wellness and energy. So what's the problem? Non-leather shoes certainly exist, but they do not encompass my classist. It really does pain me th...

The Colonic: Silence is Golden
http://thecolonic.blogspot.com/2007/04/silence-is-golden.html
Wednesday, April 18, 2007. Today was my first day taking a vow of silence. I really want to make it a goal to spend, if not a day, but half a day of the week being silent. We'll see. As a usually chatty person as well, I applaud your efforts to remain silent in support of those who have had to do the same. April 22, 2007 at 6:37 PM. PS I linked to your article on my blog =). The Colonic: GF/V REVIEW: Planet Raw is OUT OF THIS WORLD
http://thecolonic.blogspot.com/2011/05/gfv-review-planet-raw-is-out-of-this.html
Thursday, May 26, 2011. GF/V REVIEW: Planet Raw is OUT OF THIS WORLD. And I headed down to Santa Monica to check out. A casual joint that boasts a menu of exclusively raw, gluten-free, and vegan food (except certain items contain honey). In short, my mind was blown. GFVFBF. The raw food movement. Is a dietary belief that uncooked food is healthiest (although food can be heated to 104-118 degrees Fahrenheit, depending on the raw foodie you ask). Who generally doesn't like cabbage, loved.
