No, the Other Georgia...: February 2011
http://monicamohr.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
No, the Other Georgia. Tuesday, February 22, 2011. Looking back on my trip to India a few "funny" things happened. At the time, I was a bit uncomfortable or one might even say worried, but now I can sit back in the comfort of my own home and chuckle. I wish so badly that I could have captured the old woman hitting the man with her stick, but I wasn't that brave at the time. Instead, I got the leader driving away on his moped. No, the Other Georgia...: Treading with Trepidation
http://monicamohr.blogspot.com/2011/05/treading-with-trepidation.html
No, the Other Georgia. Friday, May 6, 2011. There are very few things of which I am afraid (let's see how well you know me). Although I am not as petrified of dogs as I am of m-i-c-e or r-a-t-s, hanging around strange dogs will never. So I bring all this up because in Georgia it is a bit of problem to be afraid of dogs. They sit on every corner, walk the streets at all hours, gather in packs at times, and just plain petrify me! Wouldn't I just piss the dog off more if I hit it with a rock? I will also co...

No, the Other Georgia...: Architecture Nouveau
http://monicamohr.blogspot.com/2011/07/sandras-maxi-pad.html
No, the Other Georgia. Sunday, July 3, 2011. This is the new walking bridge here in town. In contrast to the older Soviet style buildings, it stands out. Because of its shape, it has been graced with many nicknames: The Always Bridge and Sandra's (the president's wife) Maxi Pad are among a few. My brother recommended I might like this blog. He was totally right. This post actually made my day. You can not imagine just how much time I had spent for this info! December 20, 2012 at 9:48 PM.

No, the Other Georgia...: March 2011
http://monicamohr.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
No, the Other Georgia. Thursday, March 24, 2011. After the current events in Egypt, we decided to cancel our trip (we got a full refund less $100, not bad for 6 airline tickets! And try somewhere new. We struggled with where to go.we wanted somewhere warm, not too far from Tbilisi, and not overly expensive. I felt strongly about wanting to go somewhere we have never been and somewhere we probably will never go once we return to the states. So Turkey it is. 65279;. No, the Other Georgia...: Pullin' the Old Switcharoo
http://monicamohr.blogspot.com/2011/06/pullin-old-switcharoo.html
No, the Other Georgia. Monday, June 6, 2011. Pullin' the Old Switcharoo. Since I live in a country where most people don't speak English and my level of Georgian is stuck at the taxi cab level, I consistently frequent stores where I have found at least a small level of success. This is especially true when I am not in the mood for a game of charades (you should have seen. The hand motions when I tried to buy condoms! This is used to be our favorite shawarma place. Now it sells hot dogs and other meats.

No, the Other Georgia...: Armenian Genocide
http://monicamohr.blogspot.com/2011/05/armenian-genocide.html
No, the Other Georgia. Tuesday, May 3, 2011. Over the years, I have been fortunate to be able to travel to some amazing places. Some of them I appreciated for their sheer beauty (New Zealand), while others were much more emotionally charged (Auschwitz). My trip to Armenia combined a little of both. I am utterly ashamed to say that I knew nothing about the Armenian Genocide until we were on our way to the memorial. In case anyone is as ignorant as I was, here is the very. This is the actual memorial. ...

No, the Other Georgia...: June 2011
http://monicamohr.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
No, the Other Georgia. Thursday, June 23, 2011. They say it is SO easy.but it's not. Believe Me. I was once told that the term Turkish toilet is not politically correct. So I tried squat toilet. Nope, didn't work either. I found out that eastern style toilet is the most appropriate way to say it. Well, whether you call it Turkish, squat, or eastern, they are a lot of work and very messy. In October, I was close to purchasing the Go-Girl. I have managed to mostly avoid the Turkish toilets, and my skill le...

No, the Other Georgia...: January 2011
http://monicamohr.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
No, the Other Georgia. Monday, January 31, 2011. India, Take One. Many of you know that I turned 40 this year. I am not sure how this happened since I was just 18, but it did. In order to properly celebrate turning 40, my friend Beth (whose b-day is in January) and I decided to take a trip. We couldn't decide where to go for the longest time. We settled on India and Beth did all of the research (thank goodness! Lesson: Never go to a country that requires a visa. Unless you can get it at the airport.
