Tee omenoista hyvin säilyvää tuoremehua! Mehustukseen soveltuvia raaka-aineita ovat mm. omenat, päärynät, porkkanat ja marja-aroniat. Raaka-aineet murskataan ja kylmäpuristetaan, jolloin vitamiinit säilyvät. Kaikki mehut voidaan pastöroida. Pastöroinnin tarkoitus on tuhota pilaajamikrobit. Pastöroinnissa mehu lämmitetään noin 80 asteeseen, jonka jälkeen se säilötään ilmatiiviisti joko pulloon tai pussiin. Pastoröitua mehua voi säilyttää myös huoneenlämmössä, mutta paremmin se säilyy viileässä.
