A journal of discoveries in bushcraft. April 8, 2014. April 17, 2014. Ever since I discovered bushcraft 4 months ago, it’s all I want to do. I co-own 40 acres of land (with my siblings) which is only 45 miles south of Kansas City. Unfortunately, I can’t ever seem to get away to enjoy it. I have a big back yard with lots of timber though, so I try to make the most of it. I laid a tarp down for a floor because it was pretty muddy, and then I built my first fire reflector. There’s about 6 year wait)&#...

Hat the hell is. I went there and started searching for answers. Within minutes, I realized that. Within this forum thereR...

A journal of discoveries in bushcraft. Wilderness Survival with a Pocket Knife. September 10, 2014. April 16, 2015. There is a huge love affair with the Swiss Army Knif. For a lot of members. Because it’s only $30 on Amazon. I purchased one to see what all of the fuss is about. First, I made a lanyard for it. Then a self-sewn sheath. Next, I attached a ferro rod by way of a braided and whipped piece of 550 cord. Now, I’m set. Everything needed (except for the wood) to start a fire with! I Got a Canoe!

A journal of discoveries in bushcraft. Time for a Bush Dog. February 10, 2015. April 16, 2015. When I first started watching YouTube videos about bushcraft, I really took a liking to a Belgian Malinois. Named Scout in a series of videos by Joe Robinet. He seemed like the perfect “bush dog”. I’ve been reading a lot about the breed, and have since decided that a Malinois might be too smart and energetic for me. I called the listed number and left a message. I never got a callback.
