The garage doors are up, and in spite of the fact that we still cannot actually park in the garage, it is nice to see them. Our Wildwood House Adventure. Laquo; Open Sesamie. Counter Encounters ». May 31, 2006. End of the 4 Month Entry Door Saga. Last January, it dawned upon us that we should start thinking about the front door. I picked a company I really liked in up-state New York. They colaborated on the design and we came up with something nice. Only catch was the 12 WEEK delivery! Finally they are stained, sealed and up. They are made of Spanish Cedar, which looks like Mahogany, but is cheaper. May 31, 2006.

That will give you some idea about how busy we've been. We have quite literally been burning the midnight oil. So, on to the updates. We have stair rails and wainscoting. We have some paint. And . . . drum roll . . . we have lights that are on switches! Julia's folks came in for Easter weekend. They were a lifesaver.

After waiting for what seems like an eternity, we removed our makeshift ladder to the second floor and installed the stairs. The back stairs have been in for a while, but we only got the front stairs this week. Most of the oak floors are in too. Almost looks like a real house! January 13, 2006.
