Thursday, 9 June 2011. We happily waved goodbye to Esmeraldas and caught a flight to Cali in Colombia, arriving early afternoon. We managed to get a flight for around 3 quid before tax which was cheaper than a 20 hour bus journey through mudslides and so we were more than chuffed with this! Cali is a notoriously grimy and edgy city and home to one of Colombias old drug cartels, but due to a massive political clean up in Colombia its much safer these days. Cali from a hill.
