I'm taking Cage to the Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood for his birthday dinner tomorrow. He's gonna feel like a proper 5 year old rockstar. He's got summer camp tomorrow, so i got him an "it's my birthday! Button to wear on his field trip to " Scooter's Jungle. An indoor party playground with bounce houses and slides and games). I decided to bake a billion owl cupcakes. From the book "Hello, Cupcake") for his fellow campers, so they could all celebrate together. A package of googly eyes. A pair of boots.

Cage is enjoying summer camp. today was his second day there, and they took a field trip to "adventure city" (a tiny theme park with rides and a petting zoo). I freaked out a bit, you know, because it was his first field trip. someone else's van driving my child somewhere. someone else keeping track of 15 kids on a field trip, and i swore i would get a phone call sometime during the day saying that cage was lost or fell off a ride. oh man. He's home in one piece, and had the time of his life.
