Tuesday, February 26, 2008. Julia Gillian and the Art of Knowing. When her mother will butter her toast, and what plate she will put her toast on. Alison McGhee has written a sweet "moment in time" story about Julia Gillian's summer. She is growing up, and fighting parts of it. Black and white illustrations by Drazen Kozjan perfectly compliment the story. Julia Gillian is a great read for fans of Ivy and Bean. And those who have outgrown Amber Brown. http://booktopia.blogspot.com/2008/10/12-days-of-halloween-georgies-halloween.html
Monday, October 20, 2008. The 12 Days of Halloween - Georgie's Halloween. I have had a few of these moments as a Children's Librarian over the past 10 or so years. (It never really happened with the YA stuff earlier). I am busily shelving or edging, and a book catches my eye. I pull it off the shelf and low and behold it is a treasure from my childhood. It happened with The Mitten. And more recently with Georgie's Halloween. A walk down memory lane! Labels: 12 Days of Halloween. I am a school librarian&#...

Bottom Line Book Reviews: Chesapeake Public Library: Fallen in Love
http://thebottomlinebookreviews.blogspot.com/2012/06/title-fallen-in-love-author-lauren-kate.html
Bottom Line Book Reviews:. Library staff with an edge on what's what in teen and children's lit. Want the bottom line? Thursday, June 7, 2012. Fallen in love is part of the Fallen series, but it is not necessary to read it to continue following the story line. This book is more of an aside. It is broken into four sections, each four chapters long, telling the love stories of some of the more prominent characters starting with Shelby and Niles falling in love. It doesn’t give you their history at all.
