Cuffe Street: Regeneration for Dún Laoghaire?
http://cuffestreet.blogspot.com/2014/06/regeneration-for-dun-laoghaire.html
Musings from Ciarán Cuffe, Green Party campaigner. 25 June, 2014. Regeneration for Dún Laoghaire? There was a packed out tent for the debate about the future of Dún Laoghaire that formed part of the Dún Laoghaire Writers Festival last week. The debate was titled. Dun laoghaire: Slow Death or Rapid Recovery? Hats off to David McWilliams for organising the event, and coming up with the catchy title. On the panel were Bruce Katz from Washington’s Brookings Institution. The creation of the awkwardly titled a...

Cuffe Street: Moore Street's in trouble
http://cuffestreet.blogspot.com/2014/10/moore-streets-in-trouble.html
Musings from Ciarán Cuffe, Green Party campaigner. 06 October, 2014. Moore Street's in trouble. The approved plans feature a massive amount of car parking despite the current construction of a Luas line along O'Connell and Parnell Street. This means many more traffic will travel through already over-crowded streets. This seems to be at odds with Government's 2010 policy on Smarter Travel, but the plans were lodged before it was published. Sustainable transport and travel. 25 November, 2014 14:43.

Cuffe Street: June 2015
http://cuffestreet.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Musings from Ciarán Cuffe, Green Party campaigner. 15 June, 2015. Improving cycling on the Liffey Quays. The Liffey Cycle Route is a 'must have' project for Dublin . It is strong on vision, and just like the Grand Canal Cycle Route it will attract increased numbers of cyclists once it is built. Currently cycles feel the squeeze at too many locations. So why have I requested further information on the four options that were made available for consultation earlier this year? 3 This option also reroutes tra...

Musings from Ciarán Cuffe, Green Party campaigner. 08 October, 2013. Be careful what you wish for. Looks like it might be back to the bad old days if the rumours. About scrapping or reducing the 80pc rezoning tax introduced by the last Government is anything to go by. If this does happen it’ll be back to the nods, winks, brown envelopes and the occasional headlock for any councillor who plays the green card in the Council Chamber. Tax incentives have been proposed for certain works to existing buildings ...

What will we do, they ask, when boulder-milt. Comes wallowing across the delta flats. And the miles-deep shag-ice makes its move? Seamus Heaney, Höfn 2006.
