MAP has made partnerships with over 12 schools in Tanzania covering three regions of the country: Mbeya, Mwanza and the nation’s capital Dar es Salaam. Volunteers at Vanessa School. Resources can be minimal but typical of most schools in the area; one textbook/syllabus guide per subject per year group and limited teaching aids. Leading a class therefore requires a bit of imagination with the chalk and blackboard! Helping stundents in the classroom. Volunteers help with building work at Vanessa School.

The host families will provide your food and accommodation. We have three Mamas who are all members of the project: Mama Jane, Mama Diana and Mama Mboka. All Mamas speak fairly good English so you will feel you can communicate on a basic level without any problems! Mama Jane and her family live 5 minutes walk from town in an enclosed co...
