walking in the rain | twentybydesign

The life and times of a twenty year old designer. Walking in the rain. It only takes half an hour, and provides good time to think, pray, listen, and breathe some fresh air. I’ve fallen in love with my neighborhood in this way – in taking the time to see and smell and feel this particular patch of earth. Sometimes I take this walk on sunny days, and on those days it’s advantageous to know the oases along the way, shade trees for resting and streams for cooling down toasty toes. And they is part of what I...

Perpetual Brokenness | Living in Dawn

Walking in a manner worthy of the life I've been given. It is in the process of being worshipped that God communicates His presence to men. This Sunday afternoon I was driving home from a weekend at home with my family. With a five-hour drive ahead of me and a mind full of thoughts to ponder I began the drive. With a decent two and half hours behind me I passed over a hill into a beautiful valley surrounded by mountains, instantly I thought, Holy Cow! I chose the latter. God does not reject me when I com...

LOVE and The Seventh Man: March 2012

LOVE and The Seventh Man. That's "hello" in Mongolian. So glad you dropped in. This is my blog: The raw, no masks or smoke-screens, bare truth of who I am, what I am learning and where I am in life right now. You don't have to agree with me or like what I'm about.but this is me. Thanks for taking time to read and know who I really am. March 6, 2012. 8220;So, what is ‘Khoroo 2’. Earlier that the day, my two friend from the office (let’s call them Sarah and Emily) approached me to ask a favor. Sarah and Em...

Walking in a manner worthy of the life I've been given. One Brick at a Time. The Hand I’ve been dealt →. July 26, 2013. But here’s the beauty of it all. Amidst my fatigue and throwing in the towel, God is answering my prayers. Not a year ago, the Lord laid John 3:30 on my heart to faithfully pray for the year. He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less. My prayer for becoming less is being answered. One Brick at a Time. The Hand I’ve been dealt →. August 2, 2013 at 2:30 pm. Walking in a manner worthy of the life I've been given. One Brick at a Time →. The Hardest Season Yet. I can’t help but think this is exactly how Paul must have felt when he was writing the well-known letter to the church in Philippi. He talked about knowing the secret of being content in any and every situation (Phil. 4:12), and for the first time in a long time I can actually feel what he means. I am utterly content, which is extraordinarily rare for me. July 3, 2013. One Brick at a Time →. Leave a Rep...

Walking in a manner worthy of the life I've been given. The Hand I’ve been dealt. February 17, 2015. I’ve been playing a lot of cards lately. In the winter months when things seem to slow down, my soul tends to do the same and a good old-fashioned game of Texas Hold’em just hits the spot. The simplicity of it all is stunning: the dealer deals, you play the hand you’ve been dealt and you win or you lose. You can strategize and you can bluff but in the end the cards in your hands are the cards you must play.

Carpentry. liturgy. banjosity. October 11, 2014. October 11, 2014. Home is the place where, in the dark hallway, the doorknob is right where you remember it. I clasped the knife in my pocket, realizing most fundamental tool of man’s orchestration is an instrument of separation. man has always taken pride in the ability to cut away, to compartmentalize, to separate cleanly and without emotion. This denies the work of a god who brought all things together, and then. A fear of how far this paring down could...

Walking in a manner worthy of the life I've been given. The Hardest Season Yet. Wearing Thin →. One Brick at a Time. July 11, 2013. For a number of reasons and happenings throughout my day I am currently caught up in the idea of unconditional love. What exactly is it? And how exactly do I demonstrate it towards people in my own life? How do they show it to me? One question remainswhat does this look like in my life? How do I show that kind of love for others? With all of this in mind my prayer is simple:.

Walking in a manner worthy of the life I've been given. Monthly Archives: May 2013. May 20, 2013. As I’m leaving behind the past four years of my lifequite literally driving away from the beautiful place that I have called my home, I’m sitting here pondering the expanse of God’s redemptive nature. How far and wide does God’s redeeming hand reach in my own life? How far do I let it reach? But elsewhere is where I’m headed. BUTthis is where the stretch of God’s redemption comes back into focus. Literally d...
