Psalms 106:1,2 Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good: his love endures forever. Who can proclaim the mighty acts of the Lord or fully declare his praise? For the approximately 220 tribal people that are now believers and members of the Body of Christ. For God's continued work in their lives, and that He is raising up indigenous leadership to shepherd the flocks. For continued freedom to work in the country of Venezuela. For the tribal pastors. For those believers who are discouraged.

Testify in their own words about coming to Christ:. It's like we were lost in a huge, dark jungle, far away from the trail. But now, by the true God's words of light, we have found our way out on the trail of truth. It's like we were trapped and separated on the other side of a huge river and couldn't get across. BUT through Jesus, we have now crossed the river. He is the Great Intervener. It is like we are sitting on the true God's lap and He is always hugging us.

Here are some quick facts regarding our tribal people:. They number approximately 8000. They live scattered over an area of approximately 10,000 square miles on the western plains of Venezuela in the state of Apure mainly between the Capanaparo and Cinaruco rivers. The home turf is filled with rolling sand dunes, lakes, rivers, creeks, woods, palm groves, and large wide-open plains. They have their own unique culture and perspective on life. The tribal people speak idiomatically of their livers to describe emotion. Here's what I mean:. To have a hot liver is to be very angry. To feel your liver is to be disgusted. To have a soft liver is be very emotional and cry easily. To have a hard liver is to not be emotional. To see someone with a hard liver is to see them with much patience. To have a scared liver is to shiver. To not have a liver means to be filled with joy. To have a sound liver means to be kind and generous.
