Skip to main content. Skip to primary sidebar. Skip to secondary sidebar. My musings and notes. Mountain leader (summer) award. Monthly Archives: August 2016. Time for another backpacking weekend and another two Quality Mountain Days. I had a long planned trip to Ennerdale in the North-Western Lake District in mind, part of the area I’d not visited before. Pennine Way Notes (2001/02). The notes were written after the completion of the walk in 2002 and are reproduced with only minor edits and corrections. All costs and observations are as at 2002. Wednesday, 25 June 2008. Day 15: From Longbyre (Greenhead) to Twice Brewed - 7 miles. The map fails to properly communicate the sheer energy needed to walk along the Wall’s many and steep undulations. It is hard work. I swear they flinched when England scored just before half time.
