Having a VERY curious 5 year old from an orphanage, who is a lefty by necessity not nature, and is potty trained but lacking greatly in aim means keeping eyes on him at all times and much cleaning up. I can't count the number of rags I go through in a day! He also wants to be independent and do everything himself which combined with the language barrier can get difficult. He keeps us on our toes, that's for sure.

Bringing Twiggy Four Home. Thursday, May 24, 2012. We have lift off! The child history arrived on Monday and the Visa application has been filed. Visa approval takes a couple of weeks then we can book our flights! We're aiming to leave June 24, with Gotcha Day being June 29, then appearing before the adoption board on July 4. My last big adventure for the summer was camping. And here is the big green boat. And my siblings and their friends. The files the adoption agency has been waiting for have still not arrived so there's no news to tell. Mama is very frustrated. You could pray that that all works out because the appointment they were given is in October which is after.

Love life. faith. Sunday, June 09, 2013. Okay, well I have good news and bad news. I'll start with the bad news first. Hewitt was still having seizures. That will always be in the bad news category (duh). He is mostly having absence seizures. The Dr. said around 4:30am they started increasing until he was having very short ones every 10 seconds after waking up. They seemed to taper off after a while, but I was definitely bummed to hear they were coming every 10 seconds. Posted by Colleen @ six.

Love life. faith. This is in the middle of it all. He is 3 here. He had to wear a 5 point harness otherwise he would hit his face on the table. The paint on his face is from his arm flailing and hitting himself and if you look closely you can see some bruises on his forehead. He had a cluster of 5 breakthrough tonic clonics a week after starting the med, but we were still titrating the dose, and when he got to his full dose he stopped seizing. It was a miracle.
