Dark red beaded Brangian | Twisted and Warped
https://twistedandwarped.wordpress.com/2010/02/21/dark-red-beaded-brangian
Adventures in knitting and weaving. Dark red beaded Brangian. February 21, 2010 in General. Last weekend I finished my third Brangian, in a deliciously rich dark red sock wool from Saffron Dyeworks. It was a bit of an experiment – I’ve put the yarn requirements for the small size in the pattern as 440yds (400m) but I wanted to see if the revised small size could be knitted with just 400yds (365m) of yarn. The answer? Use the crochet hook method to place beads. Projects – 2006. Projects – 2007. February 2...
Beading Brangian | Twisted and Warped
https://twistedandwarped.wordpress.com/2010/02/03/beading-brangian
Adventures in knitting and weaving. February 3, 2010 in Knitting. I’ll be beading my next Brangian! ETA: Instructions for beading in this manner are now given on the Brangian page. However, in the process of swatch knitting, I did discover, to my horror, an oops! In the pattern. Prior to publication, I’d altered Chart 2, starting it with an non-column (‘B’) bud and reducing it by 8 rows so that there were only 3 ‘rows’ of buds – B, A, B. I did. Projects – 2006. Projects – 2007. Projects – 2008. You are c...
Brangian Shawl | Twisted and Warped
https://twistedandwarped.wordpress.com/patterns/brangian-shawl
Adventures in knitting and weaving. In the old tales of Tristan and Iseult, Brangian was Iseult’s faithful companion, who travelled far from her own land to serve her Princess. This shawl, with its textured lace columns, subtly shifting to form a border flowing into the scalloped edging, is not as stunning as some lace shawls, but like Brangian the handmaiden, it is quietly beautiful. From the Ravelry pattern store – you don’t have to be a Rav member to purchase it. On page 3,. Row 13: K3, yo, K5, yo, K1...
An heirloom gift | Twisted and Warped
https://twistedandwarped.wordpress.com/2009/12/23/an-heirloom-gift
Adventures in knitting and weaving. December 23, 2009 in Embroidery. As I mentioned in my last post, we had our family Christmas celebration early as I was visiting Canberra last week. My family doesn’t go overboard at Christmas, and handmade gifts aren’t uncommon. This year I made a few – shawls for my mother and my sisters, socks for my Dad, and my brother-in-law got 1.5 socks! My parents gave me a beautiful gift, which means a lot to me:. For those interested in the stitches, here’s a close-up:. You a...

My first pattern is Brangian:. This pattern is now available through the Ravelry pattern store. For more information, and answers to some Frequently Asked Questions, there’s a separate page for Brangian. Projects – 2006. Projects – 2007. Projects – 2008. Projects – 2009. Projects – 2010. Life in the Middle: Yarn
http://joannasandsmark.blogspot.com/2008/05/yarn.html
Life in the Middle. Monday, May 26, 2008. There's a yarn shop where I live that has quite an amazing selection. I don't know a lot about yarn, but even I could tell this was quite a cool place (it turned out to be internationally famous). Beautiful stuff, Joanna. Thank you for doing that. May 26, 2008 at 9:04 AM. Joanna, thank you and everyone for such a wonderful, touching gift. If you haven't already phoned La Knitterie, please add my thanks to them. I've blogged about this lovely gift - with photos!
Bronwyn Parry: January 2007
http://bronwynparry.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
On writing romantic fiction. Saturday, January 20, 2007. Farewell - for a while. After a lot of thought, I've decided to take a break from this blog for a while. Given that I'm not published (yet), and my writing progress doesn't make for scintillating reading, and the above-mentioned reasons for not commenting loudly on genre issues - well, that doesn't give me a whole lot to write about, on a writing blog. In the meantime, if you want to see the scenery and wildlife around here, there's my photoblog.

Wed 22 Jul 2015. After The Art Fair. Posted by admin under cold connections. Comments Off on After The Art Fair. This year, I participated once again in the Ann Arbor Art Fair, manning the booth for the Michigan Silversmith Guild. I’m so glad I was in a booth with five other artists – at least, I could go to the bathroom whenever I had to or could grab a bite to eat. I still have a lot of stock. This sea glass pendant came back home with me. I sold the smaller one with blue/green freshwater pearls...
