Parker Manor: November 6, 2009
http://parkermanor.blogspot.com/2009/12/november-6-2009.html
We bought a house built (with love) in 1900. Watch as we renovate and restore (with love) in 2009 . Sunday, December 13, 2009. November 6, 2009. The next weekend, with the help of Itzo EZ, we tore down the wall separating the kitchen from the dining room. We took turns screaming obscenities, well. . .I guess Eddie didn’t, but EZ and enjoyed the aggression outlet. Ironically enough, we weren’t rocking out to metal or buttrock, but the Boogie Nights Soundtrack. Who knew? It wasn’t. We picked and ...We deci...

Parker Manor: August 2009
http://parkermanor.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
We bought a house built (with love) in 1900. Watch as we renovate and restore (with love) in 2009 . Monday, August 10, 2009. Lani came over, and after some delicious Pho, the three of us got to work. Lani and I began scrubbing the walls on the main floor, while Eddie got to work in the "Master" bedroom (pretty tiny to be a Master. But it does have the most awesome closet, so Master. It shall be). We scrubbed, rinsed, and wiped the walls until nearly midnight, then I returned Lani home to Emily's house.

BookMates: April 2013
http://book-mates.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 1, 2013. I have been a terrible blogger. I can't believe I went all Fall without posting! I know you've all been longingly anticipating my witty insights into the world of fiction. I'll been on a pretty eclectic reading schedule lately, especially since I've gotten addicted to Showtime's. Darn television show taking up my reading time. Below is my new favorite novel, just to convince you that television hasn't completely rotted my brain (although we're in a TV renaissance, people!

BookMates: Stewart O'Nan
http://book-mates.blogspot.com/2012/03/stewart-onan.html
Wednesday, March 7, 2012. My long blogging hiatus is over! I have been consumed with everyday activities (work, exercise, doctor's appointments. Etc) and, somewhat appropriately, I have been reading Stewart O'Nan's. Newest work: Emily, Alone. Writes beautifully about the minutiae. Of everyday life. He manages to make the ordinary. Fascinating and all of life worth concentrated attention. The titular character of Emily, Alone. While nothing much happens in Emily, Alone. Last Night at the Lobster. BookMate...

BookMates: Nonfiction! (Kind of.)
http://book-mates.blogspot.com/2012/05/nonfiction-kind-of.html
Thursday, May 3, 2012. Hola, BookMates fans. Or, you know, person who happened to stumble across our site. (If you stumbled across our site, Kerry and I are AWESOME. You should immediately bookmark us.). So, lately I've been reading (gasp! Nonfiction. Kind of. Really I'm reading comedian and blogger memoirs, which I feel is equivalent to dipping your big toe in the ocean of nonfiction. I'm not against nonfiction, I just generally don't find it as entertaining as fiction. No) until I found my campsite.

BookMates: Jellicoe Road
http://book-mates.blogspot.com/2009/12/jellicoe-road.html
Tuesday, December 8, 2009. 8220;It happened on the Jellicoe Road. The prettiest road I’d ever seen, where the trees made breezy canopies like a tunnel to Shangri-La.”. When Elizabeth and I were talking about it, our conversation basically went like this: “It was so good.” “I cried.” “It was so embarrassing; I couldn’t stop crying.” “It was awesome! So I realize all this crying might put some of you off, but that would be a shame. Because. I realize I’m being a little obscure, but. At the beginning of J.

BookMates: August 2012
http://book-mates.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 16, 2012. Recently I've been reading more nonfiction, which is a little odd because I've never really liked nonfiction. Then I experienced a terrible moment of truth: I'm reading nonfiction because I've reached the advanced age of 31. Soon I'll be confused by pop stars and horrified by new television programs! Damn, I'm already confused by Justin Bieber and new television programs do horrify me (what the hell, 666 Park Avenue. And I'm reading nonfiction? I may as well embrace old age.

BookMates: October 2011
http://book-mates.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 9, 2011. I've been meaning to write about Deb Caletti's. Guys, it was great. For two reasons:. 2) And while I put this second, it's actually my number one reason for loving this book. In. The extremely disturbing trend in YA fiction (represented most prominently by our most favorite of books, Twilight. Of making stalkers seem like good boyfriend material. However, I am getting ahead of myself. Anyhow, I'd highly recommend. And, most of all, for anyone who DIDN'T find Edward a creepster in.

BookMates: July 2010
http://book-mates.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 7, 2010. Two of BookMates' favorite authors, David Mitchell and Melina Marchetta, have new books coming out! The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet. Has actually just arrived on shelves and there are only 55 people ahead of me in the library queue. So I should have it in hand by the end of the summer, right? Zombies could arrive on page 19 - and with Mitchell in control, I'd probably learn to like it. 2) I've just realized that Melina Marchetta's. My second favorite of her books (after.
