beautiful things | Jen

http://twobluebikes.com/2014/11/24/beautiful-things

By Jen on 24 November 2014. I’m just going to put this here so I can watch it over and over. I pretty much love everything about it, but that black and white sequence, shot through the crowd, is especially stellar. But also, everything else. Larr; magic eye. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Posts from the ‘Photos’ Category. Take chances. Anneke Beerten, Sea Otter Classic dual slalom. Recently I had the chance to travel to Nosara, Costa Rica. The chillest vibes, you guys, the chillest. Nosara is around three hours from airport in Liberia, through jungled coastal mountain ranges, along winding dirt roads. It’s the kind of place where you want to turn off your phone and stay awhile. Also, there’s surf. Warm water, bikini-ready, surf. A would go again. Adventures in the forest. Anyway, it all w...

Posts from the ‘Bikes’ Category. Tour of utah 2016. In an actual gallery! You can look at them if you like. Take chances. Anneke Beerten, Sea Otter Classic dual slalom. It’s not blue. But it poses pretty nice for photos. Look! The stories we tell. I wrote a pair of essays for Adventure Journal about an adventure in the forest. There were bikes. And a mischievous van. Also, whiskey, a thing I highly recommend for adventures. Here is Part 1, about a van. And Part 2, about a long trail by a big river. Anywa...

Alz Junkyard: No Vacancy

http://alzjunkyard.blogspot.com/2010/07/no-vacancy.html

Friday, July 2, 2010. For some reason, I only pictured the day some creature moved into the owl box as a joyfully happy one. I kinda thought we might have a party, maybe even invite some rats for dinner. I clearly did not fully imagine all the tenant possibilities. Anyone want any bees? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Alz Junkyard: Summer Break: Then and Now

http://alzjunkyard.blogspot.com/2011/06/summer-break-then-and-now.html

Sunday, June 19, 2011. Summer Break: Then and Now. Since I always like to hear about what my friends are doing to make their lives more interesting, then I guess it is only fair I write about what I am doing to my my own life more interesting. Man, this is just so sad. Remember when you were a kid and summer vacation held all the promise in the world? It was like warmth and freedom and bare feet and chlorine all wrapped into one glorious event that took. Labels: our busy life. Just talkin' to myself.

Alz Junkyard: Grand Plié

http://alzjunkyard.blogspot.com/2011/02/grand-plie.html

Tuesday, February 15, 2011. Now here I am, four weeks into the class. I’ve been working hard, lots of sweating. The teacher is the company principal - Russian accent and all. I was starting to think this wasn’t as funny as it is really really good for me. A pint of Ben and Jerry’s later and I’m ready to dig into the meat of what the heck happened tonight. Why did I let myself be shaken so badly? I don’t think so. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Just talkin' to myself. View my complete profile.

Alz Junkyard: My (Other) Important Child

http://alzjunkyard.blogspot.com/2011/09/my-other-important-child.html

Monday, September 19, 2011. My (Other) Important Child. The important thing about our child is that he loves his family. It is true that he is energetic and independent. He can kick a soccer ball in the sun or play chess for fun. He pets the cats - imagine that! He skis in the snow and surfs with his bro. He likes to make sweets and good things to eat. An he is quick like a bug to enjoy a group hug. But the important thing about our child is that he loves his family. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Wednesday, January 2, 2013. For some crazy reason, he used to jump up onto the sink when I was in the shower and paw at the shower curtain. More than once, he decided to jump up to the shower curtain rod and teeter around for a few moments. I easily imagined the chaos that would erupt if he fell into the shower on me. Yikes! After our move to our Alabama Street home, he still managed to bag a bird from the safety of his screened patio every now and then. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Mom * wife * p...

Alz Junkyard: If A Woodchuck Could Chuck

http://alzjunkyard.blogspot.com/2010/03/if-woodchuck-could-chuck.html

Wednesday, August 18, 2010. If A Woodchuck Could Chuck. Sadly, last month our passes to the science museum expired. Ever since I was a kid, I've loved that place. Around every corner lies the possibility of new discovery. Even familiar objects take on a mysterious quality amongst the scientific gadgetry. My kids tend to gravitate towards button-pushing exhibits and things that need to be built. It's who they are. He's a perfectionist like his dad. One thing about me - 85% is plenty good enough.

Surfing is appealing in its simplicity: Grab a board and a pair of trunks and head to the beach. But spend enough time out on the water, and you’ll discover that the sport is not quite as simple as it looks. Read more at Mens Journal. I talked to Pro surfer Yadin Nichol for Men’s Journal about what five things he can’t live without. He says he always forgets fin keys. Also, his favorite sunscreen is Shiseido women’s foundation. One young farmer's quest for a farm of her own. Tuesday, May 1, 2012. Blogging May Take a Backseat for a Bit. In the last 24 hours of farm ownership I (with the help of my family) managed to:. 1 Repair the roof on the barn and the large sliding doors. 2 Remove all of the carpeting and tack from the house. 3 Plant a dozen christmas trees. 4 Seed a bed of carrots and a bed of beets. 5 Remove tile and a few pieces of drywall from the house. 6 Bleach and scrub half of the rooms in the house. Thank you all fo...
