Tell It Like It's Not: April 2010
http://tellitlikeitsnot.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Tell It Like It's Not. Tuesday, April 27, 2010. Beer in your Ear. The two most annoying sounds from my youth had to be the alarm clock and. Growing up in Bangalore pubs, you could almost set your watch by the good Hotel . they played it every half hour. It got to a point where we carried a placard to the pub:. Thursday, April 22, 2010. We are generally good plumbers, tea sellers or toddy tappers who struggle with simple tasks like pronouncing simple. We have been accused of many sins but never of being g...

Ephemeral Madness: Rickshaw woes
http://shesturningblue.blogspot.com/2011/08/rickshaw-woes.html
Monday, August 08, 2011. In the February of 2010, I moved to Gurgaon. Much of the first month was spent house-hunting in Gurgaon's many squalid colonies by foot, on a cycle-rickshaw, in a borrowed car, or a ramshackle Tata Indica rented out at Rs.800/- a day. To my relief, I didn’t have to be sandwiched among Gurgaon’s many sweaty men; I had the rickshaw all to myself for a mere Rs. 20/-. I whizzed past all and sundry, feeling like a rickshaw queen. How ridiculous I must have look...All packed in and set...

Ephemeral Madness: December 2009
http://shesturningblue.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 31, 2009. Pause: Of last thoughts. I want to tell you how I began the year 2009, because someday you may begin a year like that too. Alone, aloof, afraid.almost broken. Hoping for one thing, one dream. And, I want to tell you, how I feel today, because perhaps, it will fill you with hope? It fills me, too. And, despite the fact that I lost the one dream I started out with. Thank you for staying with me through the year. For those of you who did, thank you for pausing. I hope yo...Pause...

Ephemeral Madness: Of Breath
http://shesturningblue.blogspot.com/2011/08/of-breath.html
Tuesday, August 09, 2011. On my way to work this morning, I began thinking about 'breath.' I wonder if we humans are motivated by a simplistic want- the security of hearing someone breathe. Not just any someone, our lives aren’t searches for soul mates, but to match the sound we were born into. In the womb, the sound of breathing is intrinsic to our being. In growing up in families, hopefully, the sound of breathing fills our ears. Sometimes, we find it. It reassures you of what you want. The Tree of Life.

Ephemeral Madness: May 2010
http://shesturningblue.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 03, 2010. Monday Musings - 40. What remains are their memories that unfold in the littlest things - when you make your first chicken curry and know instinctively how to cut the onions right. How to mend your heart when you are alone. How to always love the rain. How to paint your door one day. Teachers, they teach you that in school. And, you remember, even though you think you have long forgotten. More Monday Musings here. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Monday Musings - 40.

Ephemeral Madness: June 2010
http://shesturningblue.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 07, 2010. But, Lansdowne arrived only at the crack of dawn. Stones were pelted at a sleepy Government Rest House, where none but a soft-eyed guest came to our rescue. He directed us back to the chowk, where morning had come. The gurgles from a bathroom, the day’s first strollers…. And, the quiet walk back to the chowk. Tip See had turned into our favoured place for a meal. After dinner, we strolled around and round the chowk. A nip in the air, a hand in a hand. A handful of w...The journey f...

Ephemeral Madness: January 2010
http://shesturningblue.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 25, 2010. Monday Musings - 32. Each function like a self-sustained town. With a huge tea garden, its land amassing small cities, and a factory. Managers, and Assistant Managers, and laborers all have houses according to their salary structure. Much of Assam's infrastructure remains unaffected through time. I realize, this Monday, what a beautiful, unfathomable world we live in. More Monday Musings here. Links to this post. Monday, January 18, 2010. Monday Musings - 31. I do not know. ...
