Tuesday, September 14, 2010. A decade of memories. Ten years ago we got married on the side of a mountain. Together we've done great big things: (hike 17 miles to the top of Half Dome in Yosemite). We've done really fun things: (have Angels season tickets and get to play baseball on the field at Angel stadium). We've been on lots of good vacations: (Hawaii in 2003, 2007 and 2009, plus all up and down California lots of times - from Eureka to San Diego, Utah, Arizona, Oregon, Idaho, Colorado and Las Vegas).

This apron is great for a housewarming or hostess gift because it doesn't use very much fabric and comes together really quickly. A fat quarter of a solid fabric (I used Kona sand). 4 1/2 yards bias tape (I made my own, but you can use pre-made). Ten 4 1/2" squares of print fabric, to make your half square triangles.

How is it that I come up with a plan for the day and by nearly 4pm, I haven't done what I set out to do? I completed this quilt a few weeks ago as a grandmother's quilt. It's baby size. I want to love it so much. But I don't. Not the pattern's fault. I just don't love it. Pattern was a free one from here. Background is Kona Orchid. I used a Cape Ann charm pack for the blocks. Surprisingly I'm really not working on a whole lot right now, but I'm spending a lot of time working on Coop's quilt. My main goal is to get it done by Coop's birthday in August, something that I was starting to doubt I'd be able to do, but now I'm hoping to get it finished up by next week. I've made a lot of progress! I finished up the quilting on Sunday, and am working on the binding now.
