Guatemala, Part 1 | twotravelingtails
https://twotravelingtails.wordpress.com/2013/04/03/guatemala-part-1
Just another WordPress.com site. Guatemala, Part 1. April 3, 2013. During the women’s ceremony, a beautiful fox came towards the group. This is considered a good omen and the Mayan women and Tommy were all thrilled. While the purpose of the women’s ceremony was to thank the universe for all it provided, Tommy was able to connect to the feminine side within himself and nature. He came back to camp wanting a cheese and wine date with possible pedicures. Guatemala, Part Two Coming Soon! Newer post →.

Just another WordPress.com site. Our Journey Through the Western US or How I Tried to Kill My Mother. October 17, 2012. This slideshow requires JavaScript. After Tom made the MotherShip mechanically beautiful, we set off on our trial adventure aka the US portion of our journey. I call it the ‘trial adventure’ because we wanted to be close to modern conveniences and Suburu shops should something go wrong. Luckily, we only had one minor incident (a failed thermostat) during our US journey. Newer post →.

http://wildthoughtsfromwildplaces.blogspot.com/2013/11/lessons-from-marine-ball.html
Wild Thoughts From Wild Places. Sunday, November 17, 2013. Lessons from a Marine Ball. Last night we were excited to attend our first-ever Marine Ball! It was a beautiful event, held outside in downtown Lome, with streamers and lights covering the entire venue. Along with great food, good wine and fantastic company, the night was an appropriate time and setting to learn a few new lessons. 2 The Marines actually cut the cake with a sword. 3 The table with the single place setting, sitting off by itself is...

Wild Thoughts From Wild Places: West African Beauty Tips
http://wildthoughtsfromwildplaces.blogspot.com/2013/10/west-african-beauty-tips.html
Wild Thoughts From Wild Places. Wednesday, October 16, 2013. West African Beauty Tips. As a way to keep our spirits up given the uncertainty of our jobs (and paychecks), the men in our embassy have banded together and decided not to shave until the budget has passed. I've affectionately termed the effort "Beards for Budget.". Living in Africa isn't great for beauty maintenance and let's be honest- it's not like I put much effort into it even before moving to Togo, back when it was easy. I gathered nail f...

Wild Thoughts From Wild Places. Monday, February 2, 2015. I know, I know, it's been awhile. For the next few weeks I'll finish and post all the blog posts I started but never finished. And at the end of this one you'll understand the delay. As we got home, Mr. Kate ran to the supermarket to get some food for dinner. I ran to the bedroom to do some investigations and upload our pictures. Here are the life changing, "best of" pictures I shared with Mr. Kate when he got back from the store. Yay you are back!

Wild Thoughts From Wild Places: May 2013
http://wildthoughtsfromwildplaces.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Wild Thoughts From Wild Places. Saturday, May 18, 2013. Kind of funny; stopping by the kitchen to grab a cup of tea and ask what's for lunch (and more importantly: is it vegetarian? Turning the corner into my cozy, cave-like area, finding my lovely co-workers sitting at their desks, surrounded by goodies shipped in from all over the world (well, mostly from Amazon) and plopping down at my mess-covered desk with my broken chair and post-it covered computer monitor. Kossi, where is Fofo? In the beginning I...

http://wildthoughtsfromwildplaces.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Wild Thoughts From Wild Places. Friday, October 25, 2013. Last month I was looking through my large desk calendar, counting down the days until Christmas, making lists of things my siblings should buy me and wondering how I could get Satan* to leave me the Christmas Tree dishes in her will, when I had a rare moment of clarity. Next month is Halloween. Amazon is going to have all sorts of awesomely gross stuff! I carried the package of plastic cockroaches around in my purse, waiting for exactly. Last nigh...

Wild Thoughts From Wild Places. While he was getting dressed, his phone rang. "Hello? He answered. It was his friend, Dusty, who was to be his partner for that night's event. "Hey, I'm not feeling so well," she said, "I think I need to stay home tonight."Although disappointed, Mr. Kate was not phased. Nothing would stop him from attending this concert. Even going solo. Let's get out of here! They asked each other. Several people behind the girls, Mr. Kate stood patiently in line. Suddenly, th...It was th...

Wild Thoughts From Wild Places: April 2013
http://wildthoughtsfromwildplaces.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Wild Thoughts From Wild Places. Monday, April 8, 2013. Maybe I could even start my own non-profit working with the Togolese Ministry of Education to better Science and Health education and comprehension within the country? But it turns out that Togo doesn't have much in terms of NGOs. Sure, the few directors that were here would love to meet with me, but they are fully staffed and not needing anyone at the moment. It also turns out I have no idea about how to start an NGO. Then my wonderful coworkers off...

Trip Of A Lifetime. Friday, December 08, 2006. I had all these intentions to come back to Australia, get myself organised in a day or two and then be back online updating the photos from China and making sure that nothing (and nobody) was neglected. Unfortunately my intentions have so far not panned out as hoped. Each night at around midnight I wonder where my day went as I haven't achieved half of what I wanted despite having been busy all day! Hope a lot of you are enjoying the cold and the snow! Think...
