Modify Everything: January 2010

Blogging - where to start. So I'm trying to get the hang of this blogging business, not to be confused with a business based no blogging. That said, how do I start talking about projects that i've been underway for years? I guess I'll just start talking about what's getting worked on (modified) and fill in the back story as needed, or as time allows. of course I reserve the right to modify the process. Pros: Pretty simple and straight forward. I've been reading up a bit on the pin-outs for the ipod and i...

Modify Everything: Buried of late
http://everythingshouldbemodifyed.blogspot.com/2010/04/buried-of-late.html
Trying to keep several projects moving forward without the benefit of making much progress on anything. Stumbled onto this quote over at Rivet's blog http:/ michaelgoni.blogspot.com/. And loved it. Almost makes me wish I had kids. Today my son got a time-out for trying to go down the slide on a tricycle. As a father, I think I was supposed to do something other than high-five him, but that was the only thing that came to mind.". 8212;The Original Joe Fisher. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Buying batteries only to toss them into the trash is a complete waste of money and generates a lot of toxic trash. Nothing new there. So a year or so ago I started converting things over to rechargeable batteries. Energizer seemed like a solid, flexible system so I bought the charger and have been replacing regular batteries with rechargeable ones when they die. After a bit of use I found a very frustrating bug/feature of this unit. A Dremel is THE go-to tool! After a few minutes rooting through my tool ...

Modify Everything: December 2009

Break it, fix it, repeat as needed. So I like to work on stuff, usually powered by petrol or diesel but anything that I use may fall victim. Currently there are too many to list but I'll try and get to all of that. Front and center this month are the Land Rover, the GSXR maybe some work on the SR and poking at the BMW. The Land Rover is (at it's core) a 1967 series IIa 109 Station Wagon. Aka - the 109. Next up, 1988 GSXR1100. Aka - the Eleven. Next, 1978 Yamaha SR500E. You guessed it - the SR.

Modify Everything: Annual blog post?
http://everythingshouldbemodifyed.blogspot.com/2012/01/annual-blog-post.html
Sad that it's taken so long to get back here. Great ride to start the new year yesterday. Rode the Eleven from Boston to Houlton, ME and back per google maps 722 miles round trip. I'd hoped to make it up to Madawaska but Rt. 1 had a couple inches of nasty slushy slop so I drew the line. At the info center in Houlton, ME. Warming up and checking conditions. Back at home, quietly awaiting desalination. It's clear why these made such great endurance racers, all day it just hammered along, didn't miss a beat.

N-R Performance Rear-sets for the SR. I've largely completed fitting N-R Performance rear-sets to the SR. Check out N-R Performance. Ken was knowledgeable and great to work with. I've got a few other things to sort out and then if the weather cooperates I'll be able to test ride them and be able to speak to their function. They look the business. I opted for the higher version and with it the different rear master cylinder. A couple of quick pictures. Links to this post. Links to this post. The new rear ...

Modify Everything: March 2010

So this is my first bike. You always remember your first. Had my first and only semi-serious get off on this bike. Sold it as a parts bike way back, like 88 or 89. Last fall I tracked it down and bought it back. Short a few parts but it's slowly working it's way back to the street. Here it is in it's day. Dual plug heads, Clip-ons, Raask rear sets, Bub exhaust, etc etc. Soon, she will ride again. In the same color of course although other bits will change. Links to this post. Links to this post. Had a ch...
