Run Your Own F* kin Con. In memory of Con-Tiki : the dream con never to be. Sex Life of Fans. 26th Mar, 2010 at 2:00 PM. Yes, for many a science fiction convention is the place where one who has suffered the restraints of their sexual expression in their formidable years can now let themselves blossom into the children of Pan, frolicking in their freshly released libidos and all around them be the witness of their true, exciting and delicious selves. Now, I understand if you know someone who acts disinge...

Run Your Own F* kin Con. In memory of Con-Tiki : the dream con never to be. 17th Mar, 2010 at 11:32 PM. Convenor, it is on your head. Deal with it. So you prepare your bid for the business meeting and realise that someone has to be the convenor. A con committee needs a convenor, once referred to as the chair. The tradition and structure of conventions is that it is a gathering convened by one said person at a particular place and time. And as such you have a convenor. What happens from here depends; the ...

Whoo-Hoo and Thank You! - shawnam

Whoo-Hoo and Thank You! Feb 5th, 2010 at 5:06 PM. So, guess who's going to be Editor Guest of Honor at the 2011 World Fantasy Con! I'm so excited and, well, honored, to have been asked. As I said in my first LJ post, I've long looked at the on-line community with trepidation, and avoided most on-line interaction out of a deep-seated sense of self-preservation. I've seen how easy it is to be eviscerated for one small misstatement, or an awkward turn of phrase (Women in Fantasy issue, anyone? That lack of ...

April 21st, 2009. So i finally ordered paul ( texas triffid ranch. Curiously, paul stopped writing. 2009-04-22 12:22 am (UTC). I did These are just reprints of all of the stuff I wrote years back. The only way I'd ever return to writing for science fiction venues is if I was paid a mid-seven-figure income, with the perk of being able to punch Gardner Dozois and Bonnie Hammer in the face for an hour every morning before I started work. 2009-04-22 12:46 am (UTC). Sunday, June 30, 2013. Check out their website here - http:/ twistedrootburgerco.com/wordpress/menu/. My burger/salad had some nice pickled onions on it. Hello, I have onions running off of my table and across the kitchen floor. I should make pickles out of them. The pickled onions I made are tasty, but they are not pretty. Red wine vinegar made the pickled onions at Twisted Root a nice pink. My pickled onions are sort of the color of coffee. Next time, I will use red wine instead of balsamic. Bring this...

Thursday, July 4, 2013. My cucumbers turned out not to be cucumbers. I think they are musk melons, but not sure yet. What I planted were Soyo Long seeds. Apparently, there were musk melon seeds in the compost and they germinated instead of the cucumber seeds. Oh well, I can try again in the fall. Mom and her J is for Jumbo cucumber :).
