I've been ruminating over it for weeks, trying to think about how I can pin down who you are at two, and I have come to no good way to wrap it up. Kid, you are a dynamo. Frankly, I have a hard time believing that you are only two. Know why? You say it with such a lovely little lilt that I just want to hug you and squeeze you, but you are, rightly, grossed out by my sweat, so the hugs come later.

Charlie took a cooking class one day a week after school and became quite the little chef. We took a great trip to the Zoo after school on one of the last days and found all the chimps taking a snooze. Two new gelatto places in our 'hood. We spent a delightful night eating gelatto, ignoring bedtimes, and playing in the early evening sunshine. Ellen, Charlie, Carly, and Kate.

But we got a chance to visit the National Museum of American History, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (where they print the money, but don't let you take photos! Saturday, August 18, 2012. Florida 2012 - Part 1: Delray Beach. My camera is having issues and a good 75% of my pictures from Delray Beach are crap. Rats. It was a great few days of relaxing, swimming, playing in the sand. Charlie loves the beach. Juliet not so much. Both girls love the pool. All in all it was a restful time with Grammy and Grandpa, which we needed in anticipation of Florida 2012 Part 2: Disney World. And really, what would a beach vacation be without a buried in sand child?

Tuesday, April 10, 2012. The secret ingredient is lemon zest. Charlie is anti-sauce. Except, perhaps for pizza, hamburgers, peanut butter and jelly, and turkey or ham sandwiches, she is against more than two ingredients touching in anything she eats (the sandwiches have bread, meat, mayo and honey mustard. god help you if you try and sneak on cheese).
