Aric D K West. Thursday, September 25, 2008. Coverage testing with Emma. Among the tools I downloaded and set up while working on my stack testing. Links to the files I talk about in this post can be found there) is one called EMMA. It is a coverage tool which goes together with JUnit testing and reports to the user how much of the overall code was actually seen by the test cases. Here is a part of the sample output from EMMA:. From there I started to improve on the TestClearStack class. One of the f...

ICS 413/414 Software Engineering blog. Monday, September 29, 2008. The JUnit Lab exercise had us working with JUnit but more importantly understanding how testing is not bulletproof. The assignment also had the class working in pairs, offering more experience with pair programming, I was partnered with Tyler Wolff. Engineering Blog (temporary title). Tuesday, September 30, 2008. Is coverage really enough? Now, this seems like a very simple definition, but it's actually quite accurate, and the reason why it is will become obvious soon. How to test coverage? For this exercise, we were given a Java project that implements a stack using an ArrayList. The project also came with some JUnit test cases. Using Ant. How to improve coverage? Our first task was to write additional code so that the coverage increases to 100% fr...
