A little about us! Where are we located? We are located in Central Alberta. South West of Falun, which is West of Wetaskiwin about 25 minutes. An hour south of Edmonton's South side. How do you pronounce Tylke? Shawn grew up on a farm West of Wetaskiwin. His parents raised cattle and it was just time until Shawn did the same thing. He went to Olds College, became a Land Consultant, but found that being away from the farm was too hard. He came home and farmed with his dad raising his own cattle. I also wo...

Welcome to Tylke's Little Critters. Livestock Guardian Dogs (LGD). LGDs (Livestock Guardian Dogs). Were developed over thousands of years to help the shepherds fight the bears, wolves and other predators that preyed upon the flocks. These dogs were not bred to be a pet and do what they are told; they were bred to make their own decisions about when and where to fight and to do a great job of it. They make great watch dogs and will protect your animals and/or your family. Weight 66- 100 lbs (30-45 kg).

We started out "Goat Farming" with a few pygmy goats, and with all the escapes and heads in the page wire fence, we decided to try out meat goats. We purchased our first herd of meat goats from Ravenwood Ranch. In Caroline, AB in February 2009. The babies, or kids, as they are called, started coming in June 2009. We were very excited to experience kidding first hand. We had 51 kids in total, with the majority being bucklings. If you are interested in a buckling for meat or for breeding, please contact us!
