A good chance to try out my 200-400mm Nikkor. Mounted with a TC17E mk II, I get an effective reach of 975mm telephoto lens 35mm equivalent. The surface of the moon is not so smooth actually. Thursday, November 27, 2008. This is a fish restaurant in Shinbashi. The shop is run by an elderly couple. The husband sometimes catches his own fish. The uni (sea urchin, foreground) was fresh and excellent. One of the best I have eaten so far. It is from the northern territories in Japan, the four islands occupied by Russia. The otoro (fatty tuna) was also good but unexceptional. Defitnirely a place to go back to. The fired fish is a unique fish called. Sunday, November 23, 2008. Karuizawa and Mt Asama.

Sunday, May 31, 2009. Testing the Nikkor 200-400mm. Yesterday, at grocery shopping, took my Nikkor along for a shootout. The day was overcast, and drizzling, so not the best times to shoot a long zoom with F4 maximum aperture. However, with VR, it was a different proposition altogether. Here's the evidence. The first shot was taken at 1/50sec, ISO 400at F4 at 400mm. I had to wait till the lady paused at some expression to get reasonably sharp shots. It was securely packed, double boxed by manufacturer.

Monday, October 27, 2008. Canary Garden Country Club. This is the Canary Garden Country Club in Chiba. Being peak season, this was one of very few courses avaiulable for golf in Autumn. The cost of green fees is also horrendous, JPY21,600 without lunch! With highway toll fees and fuel, a round of golf comes up to an atrocious S$400! The course is long but not fantastic. It has a quite friendly layout and not many blind holes. The fairways are also fairly wide. Sunday, October 26, 2008. Couples in the Park.
