History of Type One Diabetes Foundation. Type One Diabetes Foundation, a national non-profit support system for families living with Type 1 diabetes, began as a small community support group in East Texas. Tyler Type One was formed in January of 2010 by family and friends of the Type 1 community in order to support one another in the daily challenges associated in living with Type 1 diabetes.
