Retro Tech Geneva: August 2012

Tuesday, August 21, 2012. Update Just To Update: August 2012. A fine little Hermes Baby with an uncommon deluxe case that beckoned to me, but I resisted - especially once I found out that the space bar would not move the carriage, even with the drawstring seeming intact. It might have been an easy fix, but I'll leave that for someone else to figure out. The few we saw were fairly ordinary: a late '70s Olympia SM-8 with a wide carriage;. An Olympia (AEG) Traveller de Luxe from the same era;. Also in the t...

Retro Tech Geneva: Brosette Silver Portable Manual Typewriter (1950s)
http://www.retrotechgeneva.net/2010/07/brosette-silver-portable-manual.html
Saturday, July 24, 2010. Brosette Silver Portable Manual Typewriter (1950s). I have read on Will Davis' site that only a few of these machines were manufactured, but the serial number on mine is in the 38,000s. I don't think it is quite so rare! Perhaps, as is usually the case, there are few to be found in still-usable condition. My favorite part of the Brosette is the logo. Such a beautifully-rendered B! July 26, 2010 at 9:57 AM. What a fine machine! July 27, 2010 at 5:09 PM. I love that Brosette! Howev...

Retro Tech Geneva: January 2013
http://www.retrotechgeneva.net/2013_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 16, 2013. It is comforting to know I am not the only one who has had some trouble lately devoting as much time to blogging as before. Or even using their typewriters quite as regularly. It is a shortcoming of mine, I am afraid, that while duties - even perceived ones that are in reality purely voluntary, like typecasting and typing letters - pile up, I procrastinate by shifting my attention elsewhere for a while. I snuck a picture of this fellow demonstrating the inner workings of a Be...

Monday, November 11, 2013. RTTA: Oz Typewriter edition. Robert's blog - indisputably the most frequently updated and richest in content in all the typosphere - may be found here: Oz Typewriter. Thanks for taking part, Robert! November 11, 2013 at 10:09 PM. Apartment decorating is fun, isnt it? Robert seems to have had quite good finds at thrift stores, typewriters and otherwise. Not surprising to hear the pickings are getting either thin or expensive in Canberra, as with everywhere else. I will generousl...

Retro Tech Geneva: September 2012

Friday, September 28, 2012. A Rare Bird - Royal Quiet de Luxe. The images below are all taken with my phone camera, so I thought I would continue the grainy theme on the typecast as well.). First up, the case. I knew this would be interesting because while I realized it was a typewriter case straight away, I did not know which typewriter it contained. Now, at this stage in the game, there are very few typewriters I do not recognize, so that was immediately intriguing. And here she is! Links to this post.
