Simple Fruit Crisp

I was in the supermarket buying fruit. There next to the apples was several boxes of fruit crisp mix. I looked in the picture and figured it would be easy to make from scratch I checked the back of the box and the ingredients were just what I'd figure. So here is my fruit (I've tried peaches and apples) crisp recipe:. Fruit (12 medium apples work nicely). 1 cup flour (preferably whole wheat). 1 cup brown sugar. 1 cup white sugar. 1 cup softened butter or oil (I prefer canola). Preheat oven to 375(F).

Instant Chocolate Oatmeal

The problem with these packets were two fold. The first was the packet oat meal is significantly more expensive than the big cylinders. The second is I couldn't find chocolate. One of the most popular flavors and it just doesn't exist in oatmeal. So did a little research and experimentation and came up with the following recipe. 8 Tbsp oatmeal (the increased surface area of instant improved absorption, but just rolled should work as well). 5 Tbsp fat-free dry milk. Let it soak and combine.

This is a collection of my family's recipes. Compiled here to allow comparing and contrasting. I have mostly made the first cream cheese dough and the alternate mashed potatoes and cheese filling. This is the recipe as orginally recorded with added notes. 1/2 cup milk or water. 1/2 tsp. salt. Beat Egg, liquid and salt together. Add flour and mix well. Turn out on floured board and knead well. Dough should be soft and smooth. Cover dough with a warm bowl and let rest for 10 minutes. 1/2 cup milk or water.

Anatomy of a Meatloaf. There are 4 parts of a meatloaf:. The meat adds tasty protein and grease to the dish. The starch was originally added to extend the dish and while it still does that it is what gives meatloaf its unique texture that makes it not a chopped steak. The Glue holds it all together. the Sauce is the part that gives each persons meatloaf its own flavor. The basic ratio is: - 1 lb Ground meat - 1 cup crumbled starch - 1 lg egg - 1/4cup sauce. 1 cup crushed plain store brand matzos.
